We (paid call FF's) just scored 3 donated long guns for a gun raffle we're starting in March. All 3 will be given away, via a ticket draw latter this summer.

I'm a gun nut so I get suckered into just about every gun raffle under the sun. I've paid anywhere from $5 a ticket to $50.

My question is: What's your favorite price range range when a gun raffle is offered? $5 a ticket, 5 tickets for $20? $10 a ticket? Etc, etc etc

Our mindset is to sell less tickets at a higher cost per ticket to make the odds of winning better. I'm pretty sure that we can hustle at least 300 tickets in our little community, plus a 100 or so from surrounding communities. Up here, it's never been done here before so we're not quite sure, but we do have lot's of gun enthusiasts though.

Winners are to pay the DROS fee's and all associated costs thereafter.

I have never turned down a $20 chance for a gun. (any kind of gun) As long as the money is going to do good.

In my experience it boils down to cause, then gun.

You can have a $1,500 rifle/scope as your main attraction, and sell fewer tickets than having a $400.00 pump-action shotgun in the lime light, if the cause isn't worthy, or popular.

Brag up a popular cause, and a high end firearm - tickets nearly sell themselves.

I like the higher price and fewer tickets, but most of all I would like one that I actually WIN for a change :-laf

Our VFD has a rifle raffle every year. We advertise a certain rifle and the winner gets to pick the caliber. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Most all throw out a twenty for 5 tickets.

I secured three long arms last we at dealer cost. They're not high ends arms though. Savage 2 XP .308 w/ Weaver 3x9, Rem 870 Express and Ruger 10/22.

We all agreed to $10 each and we're limiting it to 300 tickets. Should be 1/100 chances of winning which I think people will like.

If this is successful for us, I'll try to get a box stock AR or some other quality arms put into the raffle next year. For the time being, I'm pretty happy with what I bought for our first ever raffle.
