After fiddling around for quite a while I finally figured out my lack of power after installing my 3k springs was somehow due to the AFC arm getting hung up. I was not making fuel.
I figured it out after installing a home ground #100 plate. That smooth transition was just the trick to get things moving.
The truck hauls fanny. I suspect my 0-60mph time has to be cut in half. Whoa Nelly. At first I had the boost elbow removed and the hose stopped up with a bolt. First drive the boost shot up to 45psi. Whooops.
But if I put my foot into it I get a cloud of grayish smoke, and EGT's climb quickly into the death zone. I think I hit 1600 degrees for half a second before lifting my right foot up.
I need to reduce the smoke and reduce the EGT pronto. And I definitely need to watch my right foot because I'm going to trash my stock transmission. I feel it, I know it, and it's so hard to not floor the truck!
Wondering if I can lower the EGT a tiny bit with Dynomite Stage one injectors...
So my plan is to back off the plate to midway, put on a BHAF, and perhaps replace the muffler with a free flowing muffler. I hope these items will reduce the smoke and most importantly the EGT.
Lordy, this truck is FUN.
Am I headed in the right direction?
