I have a 2001 HO and have K&N, no muffler or resinator, and an EZ. I was wanting to go with a light set of injectors, are the 275's good choice? Or should I go with something else like dd1's? Anyone got any used ones for sale? Will any 275 injectors fit my truck?

Don't even screw around.

Go right to the Super-Mentals. Or the BD'5s. I'm on my fourth set of injectors (stock, 275's, BD2's, SM's) and wish I woulda went right for the gusto.

Yes, the 275's will fit. And they are cheap, but you'll change them out before too long. Trust me on this.

I have an extra set of 275s new in the box and I will be taking out my Stage 1s when someone sells me a nice used set of stage 2s... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Hello?

Don't get anything less than stage 3's. They're still drivable and are a blast. :D:D

otherwise when you figure out you don't have enought you've wasted $3-400:(

What Amianthus said,

I installed DDIII's, just a while ago and now want bigger ones. Don't get me wrong, the III's are nice,I wouldn't install anything smaller than those IMO.

He said he wanted a light set of injectors. :D

I remember calling and talking to Keith about a set of injectors over a year ago. I thought I wanted a light set too.

Well, we know I dont want any light injectors anymore;)

Actually, if you want light, the 275's are good factory injectors.

I am thinking about a set too....

I am thinking about a set of injectors as well. Can I get the same results from a set of Injectors (with no other upgrades) than an EZ would provide? If so, what set? What are the best injectors to run, DD's, BD's, etc and where can I find them on the web?

My thought is that it may be better to do the power upgrades with injectors rather than a box (been reading the ultimate VP44 thread). I want a set of injectors that will accomplish the same thing as the EZ box. Would I need any other mods to control EGTs if I add injectors that compare with the EZ box in power gains?

TIA.

DD3s give the same HP as a Comp box but less tq. You have to have a boost fooler of some sort to stop from defueling and setting over-boost codes.

Bottom line is you need a box and injectors even if the box is turned down/off.

An Edge Comp and stage 3s is a great combo. lots of power w/in cab adjustment.

275 injectors are a nice mild upgrade and will fit in your truck and keep the stock clutch working. If you go much bigger (like dd3 or a comp box or both) you will probably need a new clutch, new turbo and some fuel system upgrades.

I had 275's and liked them. Then I put a EZ on and liked it even more. I ended up giving the 275's to my Dad and he loves them(He runs them with just a boost module and disabled wastegate). I have DD3's now and am looking at Super Mental or BD5's and a new turbo... ... . the choice is yours... which path do you think you will follow??

I am looking to go the injector route with as few other mods as necessary to keep the EGTs in check. Funding is limited. If I go with 275s what can I expect in the way of EGT's? Will I need the boost module or wastegate disabled somehow or other to keep the EGT's in check with 275s?

TIA:D

rashwor - I guess that depends on if you tow (and how much) or not. My Dad put 275's in his otherwise stock 98. 5 and drove around for a while. He really like the pep and added power. He watched his EGT's really close and if he really tried could get to 1200 degrees pre turbo. He started worring that when he starts towing his new 5ver that he will have egt probs so we got him a Practical Solutions boost module (came with an elbow too) and now he is fine empty. He has not towed any serious weight as of yet so we have no idea towing. I am guessing that he will be fine. Hope this helps.

Now that the search is working again you can do some re-search on 275's, DD1, DD2 or DDII's... ... and find lots of information.

I ended up going with a set or 275's and a Practical Solutions Boost Module kit (boost fooler and wastegate elbow). The local Bosch shops had them for less than most internet sites but I didn't care about them being a matched set which adds value (and money).

I know some think I may be crazy but I was really disappointed in dd2's. I guess I was thinking the would do as much or more than the ez Iwas wrong.

Ok after doing a lot of investigating, due to low limit budget and STOCK clutch. I am just wanting to stay light for a while. I was told that the 275's are a very good choice to be able to run the stock clutch. I also do not want to have to buy a new trubo unit. Next question if I am mechanically inclined, how hard are they to install? Where can I find some install instructions?

Bigstick, I get to Mason once in a while, I am scheduled to be down there the week of the 13th, about two weeks from now. I would be more than happy to help you install some injectors if you want in the evening. I have done them and have all tools needed (if you have a 19MM crow foot it would help some though). I can also take you for a ride to help you choose injectors and mods. Email me for details on that though. The DD installation instructions are darn good and if you want someone will email them to you, they have been passed around in E-format before.

dd2's

My opinion only :)

I started with an EZ and dd stage 1's and was Very happy. But,

The bombing virus is an addiction and was just curious about stage 2 injectors and put those in and they really worked well... I dynoed at 341 hp with this combo with AFE filter and 4 inch exhaust...

Las night I upgraded my EZ for a Power Edge Pulse and just can't keep smiling... . :D :D :D

My point is, if you think you may be bitten by the bombing virus, the DD stage 2's will work reall well together plus provide a good foundation for building your truck and you won't have to try to resell Stage 1's or 275's and you will only do injectors once. .

Have fun!!!!
