01 Manual transmission 40000 miles. Warm, driving down the road it loses power and rpm almost stalling. Shut it off, start it up and everything is fine. It has happened twice in 3 months. First time, coincidentally, the fuel mileage display went crazy at the same time. Second time, check engine light came on but then was off when restarted. Both times went to dealer-no trouble codes and they can't find anything wrong.

Ideas? Thanks for your help.

Check out the TPS/APPS, Look at BlueChip trouble shooting guide, what is fuel pressure? It could also be the Lift pump or VP-44 but need to go further on troubleshooting.

When this happens does the tach display act up? When My 01 did what your is turned out to be cam sensor under the VP. Changed it and trouble went away. Also check grounds and connectors at the ecm, some come a little loose and have intermitten trouble.

Been chasing a very weird issue with mine and recall reading on another forum of similar issues you are having, I believe the individual had computer problems with the overhead display and disconnected that and his problems went away. Don't think it was mentioned where the connector was. May be worth a try, hard when it is intermittent. Should be able to check codes yourself with the key trick on-off-on-off-on and look for codes in the odometer, will show PCM and ECM.
