Competition Who Exactly Is Edge Fooling?

Competition Scheid DVD/VHS videos?

I want to get my truck to the strip this spring and want to know if I should stress out about 13-14 seconds of 1600 degrees. With the Comp cranked now it hits 1600 now on my autometer and thats as high as it reads. I am thinking about putting the Drag mod on my comp also. Will I be OK or should I consider a boost cooler or a bigger compressor or just run it?

For a duration like your talking, go for it! If you were pulling up a Mtn with those temps, I'd be worried after 15-20 seconds because you don't have the cool down like you do with racing/pulling.

1600 or 1700 ?????????heck mine reads that after it idles down for several minutes after a pull. Heck I just unhooked the pyro so it doesnt scare me anymore.

AHHH... Ignorance is bless. Its glowing yellow?!?! Can't be that hot.

Hang on... I'm developing an opinion :-laf Peak temps don't really matter, it's how long you stay over 1400. I'd say about 10 seconds, but that's just me. ;)

I not trying to be a smart butt, however why would you be at that temp for 13-14 seconds on the strip? you should be at the end of the strip in the low 13's with your setup. I personally see 1600 (high as my gauge reads) at about the 1/8 pole and look at the size of turbo I am running. BTW, before you say it, that was with my Mach 4's, not my towing injectors that show in my signature. You might want to consider water/meth. Lowered my temps 200deg when towing 14K up hills.

I'm not trying to bench race here I just had to ask. The other day the weather was nice and I decided to make a "pass". I put it in 4hi, flipped the RAD on, went to 5x5 and held it to 20lbs of boost and launched HARD. And when it hit second I glanced at the EGTs and they were at 1600 all the way until just before the shift to 3rd when it started to defuel. Again as soon as it hit 3rd right back to 1600. I backed off shortly therafter at 100mph as I realized I forgot to kick it oput of 4wd. 13-14 seconds is just a amount of time I used because if it takes me longer than that to get my business done then I dont care if something gets hurt ;)

Ok, no offense, I'm with you on your explanation. Am curious on a couple of things however. One being kicking it out of 4x4. Do you generally kick it out during the run or soon as you cross the 1320'. Just curious cause if you kick it out at the end be sure and let off the go pedal, kick it out, then hit brakes otherwise you will be power braking. Second, I am not familiar with ATS stage 5 but is that all three billett shafts? If not 20lb, launches will break something in the transmission soon. As far as temps, I have not pulled the head on mine and I don't intend to do so to expose any cracks that might be there. I don't wanna know. No leaks to I am not messing with it. I just left the head on and replace the head studs one ARP at a time.

Roger

My pyro goes up to 1600 and i bury that, but before the B1 and the cam i used to lay into it for a long period of time on the highway and id get the stacks to glow :--) , which was very stupid of me so inturn i warped the block and ruined the head. NOT COOL :( So id say 1/4 mile is ok

Michael

how long ???

How long ??? Until you beat whoever your racing of course... ... ... . or the pistons melt... ... ... ... . whichever comes first.

None takin. I am going to try and kick it out of 4wd after the shift to 2nd. I thought thats what most guys do. If thats bad I wont. As far as my transmission it doesnt have full billet just in/output shafts.
