FCA, Advertised the same fix for the R46 Bracket (Weld) in the end it was a very nice quality Housing Bracket.

IMO, No-way is welding going to resolve the adjustments form coming loose (Unless), Stop typing and go to your vehicle and have someone turn hard right back and fourth, You will see the Steering arm / Drag link flex. If some practices daily turning hard right nothing other than welding both ends!!!!!! will stop it in the extremely rare case it loosens.

The adjustment is for steering wheel centering I like my steering wheel centered and it should never need to be adjusted, but even the most remote possibility I like the option to adjust , That's why I want the service agreement form FCA, if in the future it needs adjusting they FCA will need to replace it.

IMO in the end FCA will fab up two locking sleeves attach to locking bracket.

Mine has never loosened before or after the R46 recall, I check it often to make sure ,not worried about this one . Its a simple one to keep an eye on .

Same here! I intend to just watch the issue on my truck. I figure as long as I monitor the situation, it will never get dangerous to the point of total failure of the linkage. I just hate going to the dealership and wait hours for an easy fix such as this one.

I am nearly 50K , this is one I will sit on, I will worry about it when I sell or trade. I also have the T79 to get done. hopefully this will be the end for awhile . This 2014 of mine has had 11 recalls

comrades! as snoking suggested in an earlier post ( page 6 ) i entered my vin for my 2500 tradesman 2018. i ordered it and accepted delivery in january 2018. the website said my truck is subject to the recall, however i have not received a notice yet....cheers!

I just got my letter for this recall today. Called dealer. Said one day to check. Two days to fix!! Think I'll follow the advice found here on TDR. I have noticed the front right wearing badly on the outside. They were supposed to rotate the tires last time in but it is not shown on the ticket. I know this recall does not effect alignment but I need to get that checked also.

I got my letter in the mail today for the drag link, but my letter says "The remedy for this condition is not currently available. FCA, US will contact you again, by mail, with a follow-up recall notice when the remedy is available."

Does this mean they are looking for another solution other than welding it?

They are supposed to check the toe and center the wheel as part of the recall.

The recall procedure for 2017-2018 are the only years that are out now. 2013-2016 are coming out later.

And what does it say they are going to do? My 2015 turned from parts not available to parts available on the owners access link. I will add the my libel application of blue loctite seems to be holding, but may complicate the recall.

In have mentioned MANY times on here the OE alignment spec causes outside tire stepping! To cure this simply have your truck "TOE" set to 1/64-1/32. ONLY rotate front tires, move fronts side to side leaving rotation the same!!! Also leave wheels in same position. Do this and you wILL be a happy camper. Also run fronts at 80 ALL the time and rears solo 35psi.

This applies to DRW trucks, you under wheeled guys simply move on.

Well, my '18 is included in the V06.

It didn't pull up the other day, but it does now. I'll give it a little time to see what happens.

I called another dealer this morning. They said 2 hrs to check, 2 hours if needs fixed. I checked the drag link. See pix. The nuts were tight and the blue and green marks are either factory or added when I had the 12,000 mile (free LOL) oil change done. I think my best strategy is to just watch during self service.

TCDiesel - thanks for the PDF

I agree - NOT welding on my truck. On older trucks I adjusted that almost every alignment.

Since the recall states "If the torque values do not meet requirement, the drag link...." Why not just loosen the nuts before you bring it in - they were NOT tight and the whole thing should be replaced.
So if they replace the parts will they still weld all the new parts up?
