New Truck Alarm?

My new 2500 4X2 48RE Laramie is on the rails - currently somewhere in Texas. Final destination is Dave Smiths in Idaho. My question is about the alarm system that comes with the truck. The paperwork says it comes with a "security alarm - sentry key theft deterrent". Is this system any good, or should I be looking for a better alarm system?

Just got my 2500, 4x4, 6 speed with Laramie J-Package on thursday in Tacoma. After reading the info on the security-sentry key system I believe that it will be tuff for anyone to steal your truck... they sure aren't going to drive it off. The key has an electronic chip which the truck computer must identify. If you cover your VIN number with tape there is no way that a duplicate key can be made.
