2025 4500/5500

No heat in cab

I know that, are you sure it will fit your trucks axle? The only ones I’ve seen that are OEM/Mopar are for the older axles.

Did you buy it at Just Differentials? The price is awesome, but not for 19+ axles.

Not 100% but I think it will. The gasket is the same. One of the TDR members added one to his older coil spring 2500 and it fit. So, I hope it will clear everything on mine.

Geno's only shows the gasket to fit up to '18 but per Mopar parts, it is the same as '21.

Yes, Just Diff. for the price I guess I can hang it on the wall if it don't fit:D

The cover bolt patters are different when the 12.0” axle came out, so I’m not sure how the gasket could be the same. The discrepancy on Mopar’s side is likely due to the Power Wagon still using the older style axle cover and mopar is lumping all 2500’s into that. Mopar says the old gasket wont fit 19+ 3500’s, and they use the same gasket/cover as the 19+ 2500’s (minus PW).

The correct gasket is 68454491AA.

If you look at other diff covers, like MH or Banks, they have one part for 03-18 and another for 19+.

I can’t find a recent thread where a guy bought a 11.5/11.8” cover because it said 11.5” on it and the bolt holes didn’t line up, so he had to exchange it for the 11.5/12.0” cover.

The only reason it says the 5086905AA fits a 2500 is the PW, at least that’s my understanding.

I don’t see any mopar sites saying the 68454491AA is discontinued.

I don’t use mopar parts giant. I don’t think they update their site since the newest year selectable is 2020.

It’s certainly a mess with those gaskets. But this is what I understand to be correct, as does Geno’s.

5086905AA is for the 11.5/11.8 cover used from 03-18 on the standard HD pickups, and 19+ PW’s.

68454491AA is for the 11.5/12.0 cover used on the 19+ standard pickups, excluding PW.

2018 was the last year of the 11.8” R&P.

Not much info readily available on the PW but the below is a screenshot fromAEV and their cover.

It will look good hanging on the shop wall. :D

Yup, I dropped it off at my son's shop to sell. I was going to give it to him but he sold his 2011, 2500 Ram, dang ford guy:)

It came in last night, so this morning I pulled out the gasket and set it up against the back of the oem. The '21 is a monster, too small. I just used the bolts to compare by. Using two adjoining bolts, the '21 bolt holes are a half a bolt hole off, wider. The width of the bolt pattern circle is very close but the top to bottom is about 1/2"-3/4" taller.

A few days ago when I pulled into the yard to load some cinders, I noticed I was in regen, you can hear it at an idle. So, for the first time, I switched the dash to watch it. Pretty boring, lol. After I loaded and got on the road it lasted about 20 minutes.

Then since I was messing with the display I went to boost and exhaust brake several times to see what that was. The most boost I saw was 27 psi and the highest brake reading I saw was 180 hp.

Just curious, what do you guys see on your SO or HO?

Yeah there isn't a lot of excitement out of the regen page.

Boost is supposed to go to 33 on the HO, but I don't think I've seen that yet. I also don't watch the digital readout very often.

Retarding HP should be the same HO vs SO and will be the highest at 3200 rpms. I'll have to pull the digital readout up and see what it shows on my next tow. It would be nice if the boost gauge would swap to retarding hp when the EB is active.

Agreeed!. I have both up permanently on the display but rarely look at them intently... I know pulling my 44' 5er there is plenty of retarding effort applied, no regrets. FWIW I know I've seen the EB go past 1/2 way many times.

If there is something else you would like to watch you could drop oil pressure, it's a fake reading.

Nah... Already too much to watch :D

I do however really like having the Engine and Trans temp on the scrolling side readouts. Really the only thing I do look at with any frequency, especially towing and slow speed (less that third gear) towing.

Hauling a load today, service DEF popped up, just once, 3/4 tank. Nothing stored, no CEL, and after 3 shutdowns it didn't return. Just a glitch?

Had a busy two weeks of deliveries. Checked the fuel mileage yesterday, display was 12.6, math 12.09. 10 miles down hill and 22 miles uphill, loaded. Two trips loaded one way, one trip loaded both ways. I can watch the def gauge go down:)

I mostly just let the cruise manage my runs but it is sometimes lazy. I had a really nice older Suburban (90's) pass me on the level right before a 6% grade. I could tell he was going to get in the way, so I hit 5th @ 68 mph. 5th is a beast at 2200 rpm. He stayed in the passing lane so I passed him on the right about the halfway point. Topped out at 64 mph. With cruise, it will usually hit 4th at 60 mph, then re-accelerate. About 23k gcw.

I can only grind with a sw wind, I need three more loads. I hope to finish this week.
