Truthfully no... . I have had alot of good years in the 89 and just have it to perform the way I like it. Getting in the stock 93 feels like I'm towing an anchor around. Just need the extra space and the 89 is getting a little rusted out in the last couple of years. In return I get an intercooler, so I guess I could juice it more than the 89 could handle.

It will be a sad day to hand over the keys to another owner. But alas, I don't need 2 rigs. I hope whom ever buys it will appreciate ($$$$) the upgrades, probably not.

Ok,,Since I have not had a chance to give my side of the story,Doug and John, due to some computer gliches I've had while I have a chance its my time,,While the looks of the hood mounted can be somewhat impressive to those who have not tried to fit one they can be very misleading,,Yes I DID have one,it was purchased by me from an ex-TDR member at Mopar show last fall new in the box unpoened with all the hardware,,It has the same problems that most of the fiberglass hoods out there have with fit, even though its a double wall construction,,My body man had numerous hours in fitting it to my truck and I have had the same inherent problems as I had with the less expensive glass hoods when the truck sits in the sun over long periods of time(hood begins to raise in the center allowing the gap along the fender line to widen),,I'm sorry you do not like my opinion,I am however allowed to express it,,As far as the how the hood seals statement goes John,i believe that in this long thread it answers itself(I think the comment was,"The hood bulges from all the air coming into it"),,So explain to me how a good quality seal is maintained,,Hp gains claims are just that, claims, since there is no way to effectively to measure the numbers, and while the claim of 40hp at 80mph looks good, how many members can safely run numbers like that to apply these numbers claimed??,,Do I have the right to voice my opinion on your product Doug??,,I'd say I do,,Was junk a harsh word, maybe, but,if you sat in my seat and had just paid the bill for the paint and fit that never was correct you'd certainly understand,,Why did I not take it up with you, easily answered,,Since I'm not the person who ordered the hood and am the second owner a call to you would not have fixed the problem,,I am a consumer like all the others here, but,my purchase was not from you direct and any expectations of help from your business was thought by me to be unwarranted,,I'll make no apologies for my original statement and will now end this rant,,As for John, well I'm glad you like the hood and its looks, but,if you want a quiet truck(engine noise gone)then its time for a Toy-oh-ta... ... ... .....

Hammer -

While your opinion is welcome at all times, I think the problem John and Doug had with your post was you merely stated "junk" without any reason as to why you thought that. Even when i read your post (even tho I don't have a hood) I thought to myself, whats the deal? Your post seemed kinda harsh and out of place without any of your reasons being there with it.

Just the way I saw it is all... .....

Kat,,I tried to leave this alone, but, hear it goes,,while I can see where you are coming from and do understand the think before you type and hit the submit key,you have to be here in my shoes to fully understand,,The original post was on the Psychotty air and I said what I needed to and understand about the vagueness of my original post,BUT,tell me this,,NO MATTER where you purchase a NEW product,be it direct from the manufactor or a private vendor, and spend that kind of $$$$ wouldn't you expect a better fit that some of the other brands that are out there,,The bottom line here is this at NEAR 4x the price of MOST others out there, and trust me I've had a few that were worse,a consumer expects,no demands a product that is of a quality to the price in which he paid,,I am not here for name calling or trashing of others business and noted as much already, but I WILL make sure anyone that asks me will get the truth so they can make there own educated decision,,Bottom line is this,If they(Doug and John) feel I was out of place and vague then I hope I clarified it for them and all those who have read it... ... .....

Wasn't trying to discredit your post or nuthing, just giving you a viewpoint from an outsider that has nuthing to gain and nuthing to lose in the matter.

The only reason I said it seemed out of place was because you just stated "junk" without any ryhme or reason (least at that time). As I said in my above post your entilted to your opinion, everyone is, just helps if there is a reason to go with it to make it more sincere. Does that make sense now?

Neither one of them said a word to me about the post..... my post was not as a Moderator but as a reader... just reading (just to clear that up).

That was just "my" take on the posts at hand... ... .

I feel the same way Jason, and my end up getting a bargain-priced 94-98 single cab just to get a 5-speed, intercooler, better pump, more comfortable seats, and power mirrors! Then down the road I could get a crew cab conversion done on it. But for now, I'm holdin' on for as long as I can! Gotta pay for my wife's new Tundra anyway.

I don;t think so.

Hammer thanks for your reply I have read it over and over and there are some things that just don,t add up but there is probable an anwser if we look far enough. First off my hood have never been shiped out by me in a box... last year I sold a grand total of 17 hood and that was my best year so far so I know where 99% of my hoods are I did for a short time sell through Dr. P. and in that time there was there was some conterfiting going on. Fiberglass is very easy to duplicate the looks may be the same but the quality will not be the same. If you didn,t get it from me I have know idea what you have but you are dead wrong about being the second owner, if the hood was truly my hood I would have done what ever it took to make that hood right. If I didn,t conduct my business that way I wouldn;t have bother to put my phone number molded into the bottom of every one of my hood along with my name... That was your loss not to call as long as people are up front with me I will bend over backward to help but if you don;t give me a chance and just start slaming me first what would you expect. Have you ever got in touch with me ?No you haven,t you just atacked me on an open form thats not the way to win it just put you at a lose and makes people not wanting to have any thing to do with you. As far as the hood growing in the center the air in the hood at speed does make the hood bulge in the middle a little. When you slow it goes back, my hoods don;t do that any more becouse I add more glass there now. If you had a gap at the side of the hood it was from not being alined right... I have never said these hood are easy to aline it takes me 4 hour to install ask any one that has had me put one on but they never change from the heat!!!I learn from my mistakes but I NEVER LET MY CUSTOMERS PAY FOR MY MISTAKES... that would have been you too if you would have givin me a chance. I can tell you have been up set a lot in life but give people a chance we are not all out to get you.

Hammer, when the hood bulges at high speed (which is not constant), it pulsates somewhat erratically the same way it would heading into gusting winds. Additionally, the seal is maintained between the hood and the induction components as the air enters BETWEEN the top and bottom hood panels. the air expanding both fiberglass panels would in turn force a better seal between the induction components and the underside of the hood.

Four times the price? Of what, other replacement hoods on the market? If so, you don't get jack s*** with ANY of the other hoods! The Air Bulldog induction hood is the ONLY true induction hood on the market for the Dodge Ram... everything else is just for looks. PERIOD. With the Air Bulldog induction hood comes a replacement fiberglass air box base (that seals perfectly to the OE air box top... unlike the plastic OE air box base), and an all aluminum replacement aftercooler assembly that further cools the intake air before it enters the intake manifold. The only intake air received when using the Air Bulldog induction hood is through the two scoops on the leading edge of the hood.

Hammer, I'm sorry if you didn't like your Air Bulldog hood... that's a lot of money to spend on something you ultimately weren't happy with however, Doug told me last year when I purchased mine that Dr. P purchased some Air Bulldog hoods from him WITHOUT the induction components several years ago. In fact, you can verify this in several past issues of the TDR (EXAMPLE: issue 24, Spring 1999, page 49, Dr. P advertisement: DUAL RAM AIR INTAKE HOOD AND AIR BOX"). Dr. P was selling "his" ( ) induction hood (i. e. , Air Bulldog system... such as it was) for $900. For $95. more you can purchase the hood AND induction components from Doug Hofeldt (with his good as gold warranty)... even now, two years later! I was also told Dr. P customers called Doug with problems with the induction components that Dr. P provided. How could a vendor such as Doug effectively deal with that? He had no way of knowing what Dr. P had sold his customers in the way of induction components. He only knew they did NOT come from him. The fact of the matter was that unsatisfied Dr. P customers were turning to Doug to deal with the shortcomings of the Dr. P "system". The induction components from Doug Hofeldt fit well and work as advertised. I know one thing, you would be VERY HARD PRESSED to find a better vendor than Doug Hofeldt... he stands behind his products 100% and will go way beyond what anyone would call good customer service. He is truly in the same league as Bill Kondolay of DTT as well as Piers Harry of PDR just to name a few of the great vendors I've had the pleasure to deal with.

After watching Doug install HeberRams hood saturday at the Utah Dyno days. I have very Impressed with his hood, air dam, His work ethic, and his inventiveness. His Hood is of better quality than OEM and he is one super guy .

Hmmm.

I let this go for awhile since it had turned to productive trouble shooting. Now it looks like everyone has their . 02 in and it may be degenerating (even more) so let's let it go.

Thanks!
