Nice looking truck!!!

The secret to happiness on an old vehicle is to do spreadsheets for a single project and just for savings/budgeting purposes. Then delete it and forget about it. Seriously ignorance is bliss when you pass the book value of the vehicle due to mods. repairs, etc. Another way to look at it is truck payment for new becomes the "budget" for repairs and mods/upgrades/go fast parts. I figure $4000 per year over my 2003 payment for new skipping higher insurance and license plate cost. Only when a vehicle constantly $100's and $50's you to death to you need a different DD. Make sure your insurance company knows and is agreeable with higher than book value as you do or add expensive things. And this is where each project becomes a separate spreadsheet for insurance purposes should the need ever arise.

Business purposes and IRS tax write off is a different story.

USAA basically owns me when Uncle Same doesn't...I bank with them and have most of my insurance through them. They are pretty good about everything overall.

I'm right there with you on not buying a new truck. Unless there is an accident where this truck is totaled I fully plan on driving this thing for the next 10-15 years. I LOVE the idea of keeping good vehicles on the road...

Well today marked a great start to getting the truck how I want it. I did an oil change, changed the fuel filter (the old one was jet black), installed a steering brace, a BHAF with Outerwears cover, and put on a new set of 285/75-16 Goodyear Duratracs. I just need my 4" exhaust installed, my gauges installed, the KDP fixed, and my cab lights and I should be happy for a while. I'll changed all the diff fluids this weekend as well. I think my goal will be a reliable 350-375 HP.
