Funny thing is that it does not usually happen this way...

With the TST, I think it took a little longer to get rolling, and it had a few glitches before it was smooth and error-free

The quad box seems to be perfect right out of the gate (due to large beta testing??)

it is a little harder to be first, tst box came out well over a year ago.

Not to rub it in... BUT look what I got my hands on for the DYNO day tommorow: :p :p :p

This should be quite a fun dyno day!

I thought EVERYONE stacks two or more modules now-a-days? :-laf

:-laf Now Tomey I knew you were a pioneer in TDR sales, but I didn't realize your status extended to high performance as well! Folks, you've witnessed it here, Tomey is the first to stack an xzillaraider with an xzillaraider . Double the fun! :-laf

I want to install my module SOOOOO bad, but I was poking around looking at my truck and noticed that the fuel pump and power steering pump have a light oily coating on them. I can't get enough to rub off to smell if it's diesel or not.

I guess I have to have that problem solved before I can install the box :(

Got mine last yesterday, and had the hood of the truck up in the parking lot of my hotel shortly after. Had to strip out all the Banks garbage to put in the quad. I must say that this box runs very, very nice. Smoothest yet most powerfull of anything I have had (stayed away from the tst. . . too much carnage and too little will power!! :D) so far! Very impressed. Nice product. And SO easy to install. The fun pedal just got better! Oo.

Tomeygun - keep us up on what happens

Also, question - Are you supposed to run a boost jet on the turbo? I still have mine on from the edge way back when and don't know how that affects it, good or bad? Anyone? I know Quad must be lurking around here somewhere to hear what people think of his latest thingymajig.

one things for sure... That elbow is the devil!!! With the TST, that elbow will let the turbo spin to like 50+ lbs before it opens the wastegate, Heck try blowing through it, you almost can't!!

I would take it off, and get with quad about what elbow to run

Just stay near or under 35 lbs, and you should be fine

Well I got it today! Iwas strapped for time so I havent mounted the holy crap-o-meter knob(thanks Tomeygun). Just plugged it in cranked it all the way and Holy Moses! I never dreamed a over 7000 pound vehicle can do pwer slides. Man this is fun! I have a few observations though:

1) on 30 it makes my truck feel the way I think it should have felt from the get go.

2) on 60 it is the equivalent to the Edge EZ on 80 HP setting.

3) on 100 you can smoke the tires at will from a dead stop. All through 1st part of second and a little in 3rd. Just driving down the road normal driving the engine is noticebly louder.

I am totally satisfied! Thanks Quadzilla!

Here is another observation: Just before I installed it on mine I put it on my buddies 03. Now he has the HO 3:73 gears and short bed. I was not impressed with it on his truck. It was no where near the monster my truck is. My truck is an 03 SO 4:10 LWB The same thing happened when we put the Edge EZ on his and mine. Mine ran better than his. It was night and day difference. Can anyone explain why this is? He has 50 more HP from the get go! His truck is definately stonger running than mine when we are both in stock form. His truck is louder in the cab (79db @73 MPH) than mine (72db @ 73 MPH). Mine is Laramie his is SLT. Can this be explained? Again, hats off to Quadzilla!

I don't have enough fuel to let it spin 50psi even if I wanted it to. The modules were designed on BONE STOCK trucks and this includes the wastegates being stock. With that said we control the wastegate on the 600 our self. I have seen hp gains with a boost elbow on the 250/305hp engines, but I have also seen a loss of power. I think it depends on the exact factory setting of your wastegate. If you get too much boost it just blows hot air.

Hope that helps.

My first guess is a dirty fuel filter. Then a weak wastegate or it is set awful loose.

Also remember that a 100hp gain on a 250 hp motor is a 40% increase. A 100hpm gain on a 305 engine is a 32. 5% gain. It is less of a gain than your truck. It should still make a huge difference on his truck unless something is wrong.

Quad

Well, I just finished installing about 2 hrs. ago. I've been driving around ever since :)

I'm amazed. I thought the 30 setting wouldn't even be noticeable, but it definitely wakes the truck up a little. 60 makes me grin, and 100... ... Holy Cow! I can't shift fast enough.

I was goofing around with a guy with a 911 Turbo. Just enough to **** him off and create some boost of his own. Man, those are sweet rides.

The box works as advertised. No codes, excellent driveability. Just like stock, but a heck of a lot more power. Max boost stock would peak at 24, and settle at 22. Now I peak at 30-ish and settle at around 28-29.

One interesting thing I noted. Steady 75mph in the stock setting gives me 700 degrees and 14psi boost. On the 100 setting (same stretch of highway) the boost was 10, and the EGT at 600.

I thought it would cause some surging with the cruise control on, but it's smooth as butter.

Overall I'm very happy with this product.

with the boost elbow from edge in the truck I noticed about 35 psi is my max, at east sustained. I haven't really had a lot of time or space (I'm in LA right now) to play with the go pedal and se what she spikes to and settles at. Egts look pretty good too, and I have the 140 hp box!!

Quad - is there anything on the actual module that tells you which program you have?

My boost levels got too high for comfort on my stock turbo with the ez elbow and Race Quad box so I put the factory one back in to let the wastegate open quicker. Not as much over all boost but hitting 42 psi + was making me nervous on the stock turbo. Now it runs in the mid 20's most of the time and will only hit 34 or 35 on the top setting, even with my stack.

when you turn the key on, look for the first three flashes (out of 4)

-green-green-green for the 100hp module

-green-yellow-green for the race module

-Green-red-green for 100hp module for 600's

- Green-green-yellow for race module for 600's

Got mine in and installed last night. To those of you who claimed 15 minutes... . here's a birdie for ya! I guess I'm one of those that has something go wrong or at least not per plan every time. It took me about 1-1/2 hrs to completely install. My biggest hassell was the "grommet" on the firewall. When I installed my guages, I just drilled a hole right in the center of the plate. Well, being that mine is plastic, not rubber, I had a hard time getting it cut big enough to put the 12 pin connector through. Ended up drilling holes around the circumference and filing the opening. I mounted the switch in the panel below the ash try and cup holder. Seemed to be a nice inconspicuous spot for it. I might try to get the knob anodized black, to have it blend in better.

Performance wise, the 60 setting is about equivelent to my EZ on 4 - but maybe a tad stronger off the line. The 100 setting definitley gives as much power as I'll need - but on an auto its not a tire smokin' uncontrollable beast. From a standing start, just mashing the throttle gives a short tire spin. Power braking will get them roasting though (something my EZ wouldnt do).

All in all so far I really like it

Sorry you had so much trouble, you should have posted or pm'ed. What do you mean your grommet is plastic not rubber? In any case, many of us have taken the easy way out and just poked a hole in the steering shaft rubber grommet/seal. I have tons of stuff running thru it. Maybe I'm a lazy wimp - but the grommet looked like more hassle than it's worth. . :)

Yes, its made of plastic. From the way others have posted, it sounds like some actually have a rubber piece that cuts easy. Theres no way I could cut it with a utility knife. Maybe theres a diff between auto's and 6'ers.

Didnt have time to post and wait for answers - daylight was fadin' fast!
