I was working on installing a overload spring setup I had gotten off of a 2002 2500 truck today and noticed there was 3 inches between the overload spring and the stop it is to make contact with. Is this normal? Are the 2500 overloads different than the 3500? It seems like alot of travel till this hits. My truck seems to sit high in the rear, it has 5 leaves in the leaf pack not counting the overload spring. I also just installed the rear sway bar and noticed the the drivers side of the bar makes contact with the axle tube at times because there is a mark on both where you can see that they have hit. There is only about a 1/4" of clearance when the truck is sitting level and empty. I am wondering if this truck has re-arched or added leaves in the rear spring packs. Can you get lowering blocks for the rear sway bar?

On the spring to stop distance you're talking about, I've never measured it on my truck, but that sounds about right. I'll see if I can take a look at the sway bar a bit later and see if it looks like what you're describing.

My truck is a 2002 2500 with the camper package, so the overloads and sway bar are both there from the factory.

Overloads

The overloads on the 2nd gens are useless until you add 2500# or so which is maxing out your truck. I removed mine when I got it as they caused "overload slap" everytime I bottomed out the rear suspension. I installed airbags which did a better job.
