Hey Gang!

I haven't done a proper investigation or "search" in the forums... .

BUT...

How does one go about replacing the Ignition Switch on one of our First Generations?

Other Questions:

How did you test for a bad Ign. Sw?

Anyone know the Part Number & approx. cost?

TIA..... KEENO:D

I bought an Ignition switch from Auto Zone - P/N SW276 it's a Wells switch. After looking the switch mounting over very carefully I decided that I did not want to go through the contortions required by manufacturer. I removed the outer bezel then used my die grinder to cut away the inner plastic - the switch is held in place by a stamped metal plate that is screwed in place so the switch is solid once put back together. This procedure worked very well for me and removal and re-installation was a breeze. When everything goes back together the dash shows no sign of the work. Hope this helps.
