Any need for a 1st Gen cold air filter?

Smarty 3G software update??

The P0602 has been around since the catcher ecm days. The P0602 is a nuisance code since marco reprograms the cummins software.

The P0602 does not hurt performance . 01% and it is easily cleared

I just found out It can be done. I have the older pmcr that can't be upgraded but there is a way to turn off the timing buy changing arround some of the wiring in the timing harness. I have heard the timing is crazy in the 04. 5s and the Smarty takes care of this. I can tell a differance when I run a sw that does the timing. The truck starts with just a bump of the starter and runs smoother and lower EGTs.

so spill it. :D

You can't unplug the timing harness. The tst has to read rpm for fueling. You would have to re route the crank and cam signal directly to the ecm like stock and still let the tst recieve the same signal.

Smarty seems to have loaded a better timing curve in my truck even though I'm running a sw with out added timing. My truck used to have a low rpm stumble once in a while that would some times set a P-0336 code. I can"t seem to make it stumble now.

What did you do scotchlock/tap into it so that the tst piggybacks off the factory wiring?

I need the exact same thing. Love the Smarty, I just need a way to help control the low boost smoke. I am running the 30 hp file now. It is very hard to take off from a start and not smoke out the car behind. Not that it sometimes has it's place. :-laf
Dont take this the wrong way, but you guys are being a little picky on the smoke, why am I not having these problems with the low settings. I understand if you stab it it'll smoke otherwise you guys need to drive different.

Unless you have a tiny turbo I dont think the low end power can be made without smoke...

With my truck on 6/1, it drives great! Little smoke, and feels awesome when I hit 2000rpm

That said, when I use 6/5, its just as good, but now the time from 1000-1900 rpms is cut in half, and once the tubro lights its WAY sick on the power

Like the 12v, low end smoke is just a byproduct, IMO

Everyone complained when running bigger turbo's and slow spoolup! Now we have the fuel to lite these bigger chargers and people complain about the smoke! Can the aftermarket ever win? :-laf

I didnt think my SPS66 was slow to begin with, now my truck pulls up as quick as the stocker!

Now lets play with

the ABS programing. My GPS said the odometer was 1 mph fast with stock tires and now with 33s it's about 1 mph slow. Not enough to worry about but this Smarty is fun to play with. My tape measure says the 33s are more like 31. 25s. Mash a couple of buttons and that was quick and on the money.

Don't get me wrong, it is fun to smoke every now and then. Please note I have a 6 speed and a 610 motor. My 96 with big turbo and #10 plate was easier to control the smoke on.

The Greenpeace Prius driver was wandering why it got so dark outside when I entered the freeway this am. :-laf

SO... any predictions on the '06 version's debut? Is it just a wiring harness thing to sort out to plug it in?

No it is a language barrier... ... ... the 06 is total can bus the 05 back is a hybrid. It will take a new board to run the 06. That new version will be backwards compatible 03-06

I hope Marco is listening, If you are, thanks a million, you have a great product!

Chaw, Im right there with you,

If I could get the 60 HP and 90 HP program to just give me modified torque management and change the fueling to need more boost before I get fuel I would have a perfect setup.

That way I would have some good power if i decide to say go above 12 psi turbo boost but not smoke people out each morning like I am currently doing now.

I love the smarty and think it is great , I also am not being picky. Im just saying that if I could get special programming from Marco It would be great.

I would be willing to pay him for a custom program. Thanks Marco for all you do for us here on TDR. Thanks to Bob Wagner too!!

Thanks

jason

Marco is away on holiday with his family. Well deserved holiday.

Where we are today is not where wewill be tomorrow. The smarty software will be updated as feedback from the customers come in.

The software updates are free.

Marco is always ready to listen .

Loaded Smarty on the 05 at work this morning, truck is bone stock so have to stay with the lower settings. Didn't really notice any unusual black smoke, however... . quite a bit of white smoke!... ... ... ... :-laf :-laf The drivers like it! Thanks Bob and Marco, another winner! bp

Smarty CR SW 1 + 5th gear + 60mph + throttle = clutch slippage. Amazing, thanks to all involved in this little gadgets creation! I'm still smiling as I write this. Clutch manufacturers everywhere should thank Marco for this.

I agree on the smoke. I have been running the 60hp programs but it is still impossible not to smoke, it is a constant gray haze. But it IS nice to have that throttle response. :)

I can guarantee that marco will fix the low end smoke issue by adjusting the software.

Remember this was the 1st offering that needed to cover a lot of bases.

Let the tweaking begin
