It doesn't look like I'll get that Friday off, so I'll probly end up working late into Saturday morning, but will try to hit the Mountain Dew hard so I can make it up there sometime Saturday late afternoon/evening.

I got the pump on. I'd love to install a set of 60# valve springs, but I'm told its not a job for this kind of shindig?? I don't have the required tools here. If it is, maybe just a check of the overhead then. Check/set rear brakes?

Chris (dieselman359) we haven't heard from you!!??

Michael, sure we can go for a ride, I don't have it tuned just right yet, but the clutch doesn't care either way, it doesn't hold.

Philip, I haven't heard from JDurham in awhile, not sure what we're gonna do about the bed(s) or fender(s). If I have a bed to take home, I'm gonna bring the crewcab. No stacks, so I can haul the bed home on top of the crews bed.

I'd like to drag race someone who is up to it. I have been meaning to take the truck to the (local) track but can't seem to get it done. I'll need someone with a hot rod rig w/auto to get a decent comparison. I'm simply looking for comparison results. With out ever racing or dyno-ing my rig I have nutt'n to compare it too.

That nice long, flat route outside of town would work well, no?

Scott

We could also use plastic ware, paper plates, disposable bowls, etc. If some of you from farther out would like to do those items!

Michael if you want to bring some soft drinks that would work. Like Scott you have a long drive to make and its a pain to bring something that needs a lot of cooling.

I'm all over that. I'll bring some plates, silverware, cups, too. I'm planning on getting there late Friday night. It should be good fun putting up a tent in the dark. :p

Scott, I'd be up for a little comparing, but I'm sure you'd smoke my old gear jammer. I think we should get a big load of hay and then try it.

Michael,

I need some weight to hold my rear tires. They simply spin/spin/spin and I don't go no where's :( Last year we had one of the guys performing several demos out on the highway. I didn't attend as I had my elbows inside someones' front timing gear cover. Perhaps this year I'll be able to perform some burnouts or someth'n.

Yep... there's "dyno power" and then there is "usable power". I guess if you have lots of dyno power and little usable power the difference goes up in smoke.

Horse hockey! Unless you can put the tires up in smoke in OD at 70 mph, all the power you make is usable!! ;) Ya just gotta drive the truck until you get it into 4th or 5th. I have troubles with traction in an agressive launch in second, third gets a good chirp with a good shift, and 4th we're off to the races. Does your truck have an LS Scott? If not you really need one. Open diffs in our trucks have severe traction problems.

We can race, uhmm, I mean compare trucks, ;) uhhmm, from the roll to Scott, maybe 25-30 mph. Then there should be alot less problems.

Michael

"... ... ... uhhmm, from the roll to Scott, maybe 25-30 mph. Then there should be alot less problems... ... . "

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey... ... you need more fuel bud... :D:D..... us "diff challenged" guys gotta do it smarter is all... . like not race a guy with a LSD or locker... .

pb... :D

Yes, I have the LS diff. That's one of my downfalls. I like to see the two black stripes... ..... more often than I otta ;)

The bad news is that I have been performing some tweaking/high speed test runs and my VE is now leaking diesel :{ It's up in the air if I'll have time to fix this problem prior to the IN trip. I'll be looking at things a bit closer today. A steady leak has developed from the AFC vent. I suppose the new O ring blew (somehow) allowing fuel pressure to enter the AFC.

I don't think the 93 needs a whole lot more fuel. If the pavement is not perfectly dry and clean, 3rd and 4th can become a real challenge. My little brother and my wife REFUSE to drive my truck in the rain. There is something about the rear end coming out to pass the front at 60 mph in OD they just don't like  They don't enjoy steering with the rear tires like I do!!

Now, the 90, it can use some more fuel, just gotta come up with about $800 for a 14 mm head, and some big sticks. ;)

Michael

Sorry it took so long to post ive been having some trouble getting signed up for tdr so I came home and will use dads for know. I plan on bringing my 90 down for the weekend. Theres so much i want to learn about the ve and you guys sure seem like the ones to ask. I was wondering if there was just a place to pitch my tent for the night around there. I will be by myself and don't need much room so I was wondering if you guys know any where cheap. Manely just want to hang out and bs but would love some more info on timming and changing the gov. spring since they are the next mods i wont to do to my truck and of course getting some more fuel out of it :) . Let me know what you need for the weekend, food ect. got about 3. 5 hour trip so don't want to keep anything cold but other than that let me know. I don't know if i'll be there friday or saturday morning yet. Looking forward to it.

Cade Schafer

Cade, I'll be tent camping right there at Jeremy's house by the pond, really nice and cheap ;) . Might even bring a fishing pole this time:p. Or back by the water truck.

Michael, $800? You must be talking 14mm head and sticks?

Scott, yall just have to trailer the 92 over :-laf ;) , just gonna have to make it a dyno/trailer queen :-laf ...

I'll have my Greenleaf built 93 VE pump on hand. Just for looking.

Would y'all like me to take apart a VE and show you's how to make adjustments and modifications?????????????

I can bring along a VE or use Bills.

B,

I have the truck in the shop now and the pump is back on/together, along with a new governor mod I picked up on. I'm about to start it. Have the air intake off the turbo ... ... ... just-in-case.

Bill's is just for looking :p . If ya got a core, bring it on by... or we could always install a gov spring in Daniel's or Michael's truck :D .

Ahh, I gots the 3800 spring that needs a test mule!! I want someone to install it and not just let it sit in the toolbox like I've done with it :-laf .

I wanted to go higher than 3200 when i do a spring and i'm having trouble keeping my idel down with my mods. Wernt you guys saying that your 3800 spring was longer and would help with that or am i off base. If you wanted to try it we can stick it in my truck.

I would love a run through of moding a ve. That would be sweet if you guys had some off trucks to look at.

I like the price of backyard camping, i'm in on that one

I have found that adjusting the throttle linkage(s) and/or modifying the #366 spring will net you above the 3200 advertised rpm's

Bill. It was too late to install the gov spring in this pump. Sorry. I had to get it dun!

While at Jeremy's I'd rather not install a governor spring on someones truck. I'll be happy to show how with a good working pump OFF a truck but don't need the fustration of doing it to a ride there on the farm. Just my personal preference. Someone else can try it but I'll be going home about 5:00 Sat if someones rig is running or not.

Looks like my Silver "B" will be making the trip. She runs fine.

Yes Bill I meant $800 for both, I already talked with KTA about the 14 mm head, and know the price. I figure I'll need something bigger then the stock injectors, but then again, my 90 is not IC so I don't know what injectors to get. I know that eventually my 90 will have an IC.

Uhhmm, boys, in about 7 days we'll be sitting around visting, and swinging wrenches.

I haven't asked, is it ok to show up late Friday night, set up a tent in the dark  , and stay untill Sunday morning?

Not speaking for Jeremy, but last year I showed up around 4-5pm Fri and left Sunday morning LOL. Would've left Saturday night, but Chris wouldn't let me  , said we had a cooler of 'beverages' to drink and chilli to eat by the campfire.

For those that were at the campfire last year, I bought Blazing Saddles. Didn't care for it too much, but could bring it :-laf .
