Diesel Extravaganza

Any of ya'll going to Scheid, Diesel Extravaganza, Terre Haute? Probably gonna go... just checking in with ya'll.

Probably gonna take Dad's truck: 95 reg cab 4x4 auto, ATS TC, 3GSK, #4 plate, 370's, Delivery Valves (191's), BHAF, 14cm internal wastegated charger and 4" stacks.

pull

If'n you don't go to Scheid's--there's a pull at Manchester on the 27th. Isn't that the same weekend?

Trying to get Mark to pull--my truck ain't a going to be ready.

Not gonna happen bubba :{ In the middle of switching back from co-op session to classes in Nashville. Wally World is already bi&^%'n about me asking for days off so I'm gonna have to skip the next two local pulls (the one you had on the 12th) and this one to get off for Scheid.

HOWEVER! I'm still planning on going to Cynthiana and hooking on July 25th so start making arrangments to go to that one Wade! Its on a Saturday and starts at 7PM C-town time which is 6 ours

Southern boy out west

Spotted a red '03 3500 dually at the Cummins Truck Fest at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Co on Sunday (7-27-03). It had a TDR sticker on driver's side back window, Tennessee plates.

Sled Pull Dickson, TN

Just a reminder. Sled pull in Dickson, TN Sept 5th. I think it is a light sled. Only pulled there once before, no where else. Antique tractors start at 6:00 p. m. Trucks should start about 8:00 p. m. It's a "Run What Ya Brung" class. 18 trucks pulled last time. Two 400 HP fords and a 450-475 HP dodge. The dodge one last time.

I'll be pulling and Dad is pulling too. He has never pulled before. He says he ain't, but I can drive his. He is just scared he'll like it too much I think! Give me the keys, I'll drive!

Dad's Truck:

95 Auto 4x4

ATS TripleLock TC

TST #4 plate

370 marine injectors

3GSK

191 Delivery Valves

5" Stacks

What gear you think for pop's truck?? I was thinking Hi Range, 2nd Gear on the column, OD off. Mixed up between 2nd or third. I am afraid I'll run out of motor.

DYNO again

Hey Gap, post them questions on the competition forum, might get some help.

And I've got some injectors coming from Nevada. Should be here first of next week. So I'll be going back to the dyno at Brent's.

Anybody else ready to go back? Let's shoot for 2-weeks. Sooner if nobody else needs/wants to go. Later if we need to schedule a big group.

Lemme hear ya.

I can't wait for the report on injectors. DDIII's I presume. Did ya look at EDM's? Just curious?

Ain't real interested in Dyno yet, maybe after my injectors!

Let me know, anxiously waiting!

Okay 3 weeks

I had a fishing trip pop-up. That is if'n somebody else wants to go.

I might not wait that long if ya'll ain't coming--there'll always be NEXT time--after the turbo.

Yeah, 3's --two reasons, they're tried and true, and price. I got 'em from JD.

Dyno Trip

I would be interested in it for S$&%& and giggles. My truck is pure stock. I would like to get a base line of where I started from for when I do get to do some mods. Plus, I would like to check your truck out a little more and figure out what I want to do to mine.

Wade, I thought I saw you a week ago Sunday on the 4-lane coming into the 'Boro. I was on the side of the road with a blown trailer tire with a Massey tractor.

Later,

Jay

Hey Jay, wondered when you'd make yourself known on here.

That particular Sunday was my uncle's funeral. The second one this summer. Otherwise I would have spotted you too- and stopped to seef I could help.

Yep, baselines are good. We ran a few stock trucks last time, and three with mods. EGT is going to be my biggest problem. Injectors will be in tomorrow. :D

Remind me to bring my Briar Hopper gauge and we'll check your fuel pressure. I forgot it last time.

Okay there's TWO. Discounts start applying if we get a couple more. Wound up paying $50 each last time.

It won't be long... ... the BOMBing bug is attacking me again Wade!:{ :-laf

First thing I need to do is get my clutch situation straightened out.

I'm running a OEM take-out from our buddies @ www.BlackMountainDiesel.com , and my #10 is now collecting dust in my toolbox at home. :rolleyes: :{

Really wanting a Dual Disk... ... but its A LOT of money. Gonna ride this OEM for as long as I can (which should be a while with just 300's) and then see where I go from there.

When the clutch is straightened out I foresee... ... . 16cm housing. maybe a upgrade to 370's ???, 191's sooner or later, may eventually send my turbo to PDR or get a PDR 35... just got my Pac haven't even got to use it yet (no HD springs yet) and I don't want to lose it to a HX40... plus $1200 on a turbo!?!?

Can you tell I've been bit again!?!

Oh yeah... . went to the Carlisle KY pull this weekend..... another set of stacks is in my near future!!Oo.

You don't know do you?

I sold my setup and reinstalled my factory 3" Straightpipe about a month and a 1/2 ago now.

I miss my stacks though... . and another set is definately in my future. :D

Just like the last time I will miss the pure downright RUDENESS of a straightpipe out the back when I get my next stacks... . but I will also run a 4" downpipe and true 90* elbows when I build my next set. :D

Wade,

What are the exact dates that we are looking at for the dyno run? I will be around except for Sept. 5-7. Gotta be in N'Awlins for work that weekend.

Sorry to hear about your uncle.

I'll be on the river 22,23,24. So any other time is good for me too. I misplaced your number. Give a call at 765-5522. It's local for you.

I'm almost ready to go, waiting on fuel line upgrade parts. And I've slipped the OFE!

So far I can run 1x5, 2x4, and 3x3 without temp/fuel supply issues. It'll be easier up on the rollers. :D

"Just a reminder. Sled pull in Dickson, TN Sept 5th. I think it is a light sled. "

I woke up this morning with this CRAZY idea that I would pull the sled on sept 5th with my '03. I can only imagine the lip busting smile on Gap's face as he reads this. :D

Gap... man I M-I-G-H-T try and do it. The things got 10k miles on it now and has only had a 5k lb tractor behind it. I'm thinking maybe she needs a little load to help seat those rings... of course the sled's prob not exactly the best thing... but what the hay... I wanna see some smoke!!! :-laf

Does it hook up with a 2" ball from the receiver? Pintle from the receiver? No chance for a goose hookup I don't suppose?

Lets see how much support (goading) it takes to get me to hook up.

later guys!

/abg

Twisted clevis it what you want. Needs to have 3" opening. Pull it from the receiver. Higher is better, but they'll have a limit on that.

Have fun.

I about Pee'd my pants reading this! I choked on a pork rind and about spit Mello-Yello all over my screen!

Good to hear. I would love to see and here that 03' pull. I honestly don't think with a stock truck you have much chance of doing any damage. Only thing to remember is if the tires ain't spinning, which they very well might not, the power is going somewhere. That's when you break stuff, when you can't spin the tires.

Last time I was there (the only time I have pulled) I just used a big ball (2 5/16) turned right side up with my dropped down stalk turn upside down to get some height. I don't know if it helps with stock power or not? They didn't say nothing they just hooked it around the ball. It's a run what ya brung so they ain't to picky. I'll have a clevis there for ya anyways.

Should be about 5-6 dodge diesels there. And a couple Ferds.

Last times winner: 02 HO 6 speed dually, 4x4, Edge Drag Comp, 100 hp injectors, Mega Cannon.

Dad's: 95 Auto w/ Barney TC, 4x4, #4 plate, 370's, . 191 DV's, 3 GSK, No Rack stop, Stacks, Smoke Machine!!

Buddy's: 96 Auto 4x4, #6 plate, Bhaf

Buddy's: 96 Auto 2x4, #6 plate, K&N

Andy's: 03 HO Auto, 4x4

Buddy's Ferd: 02 Auto 4x4, chipped(400 hp he says)?

00 Ford: Flat bed dually w/ Stacks, some sort a power enhancement.

I working on another buddy with 99 4x4 Auto.

The diesels really showed out last time. It really impressed me the stagering difference between us and the gas boys. It'll make ya proud once again you bought a diesel. NO comparison! It cracked me up seeing 4x2 diesels easily outpulling 4x4 gassers!
