The festivities start at 9am

Or is that smoketivities?

It'll be first come, first run, so show up as early as you can. But we'll hang around for anybody who can't be there early.

Mark, how long does it take to slide your plate? If you can do it fairly quickly they'll leave it up there. It's the up and down that costs.

Let me know if you need more directions.

Hey Jay! where you at?

And the I gave a TDR to the phone man yesterday. He was subbing for the regular guy. Turns out he pulled in SS gas up here Saturday night and his other truck is a 2001 CTD!

See if you can round up a 4. 5" holesaw for me! Sliding my plate will definately call for more air.

Me (WadePatton)

Mark (Got Soot?)

PistonSlapper (PistonSlapper) what's yo name?

Kirk (4 Ram Tracks)

Eric (elamb)(depending on haying conditions-looks wet)

At 4 trucks we should get the $65 rate, 5 maybe less-we can pass the hat to see if Mark gets to run twice. :D

My phone is screwed up so email if'n you need anything. I'll check it before I leave Sat morning. I'm about 45 minutes from the dyno.

'round here everybody calls PistonSlapper "Gap". His real name is Jimmy. Where did Gap originate? Beats me... I'd like to hear the story though (and so would a thousand other people here at work. )... So tell us Gap!! What the story?

Gap

Oh O. k. Here we go... My name is Jimmy Brian Arrington. When my mom was little she fell down on a merry-go-round and chipped her front tooth. She got it fixed and it fell out. She got it fixed again and it fell out. She left it then. "I'll just be gapped toothed" Bunch of friends of mine were over one day(first time they meet momma)riding 4 wheelers and dirtbikes . After we left the house they started calling me "Gappy" and "Snaggle" all day being funny. Next day at school everybody is calling me "Gappy", being funny. It just kinds stuck and I have been "Gap" every since. Me and mom both thought it was funny! She had "Gappy" engraved into her bowling ball and on her bowling shirt at the time even. We all took it kind heartedly and I am just "Gap" now. Everytime I run into an ol school friend I here "Hey Gap, How's the tooth?"

Whatever..... that's my story... .

Where's the sled and how do you get this hitch installed on a Caravan?

:D

Russell--The old manual hubs are good for keeping women out of the mud holes.
So is she ready to go back in? Or have you shown her all the mud that got packed up under the truck.

Let me say this for the 30-45 min's of total fun in the mud she spent 4 hours digging mud out of all the hidden places under the truck. She was not real happy with that idea. . LOL>. I think her muddin days are over.

I believe that I am going to be able to make it. Also, I was hoping there would be room for one more on the dyno. Have we come up with a time yet?

Thanks,

Eric

Saturday the 14 afternoon we can run 4-5 trucks max. If we can get 8-10 trucks, they might do Sunday the 22.

Let's get a sign-up going.

Me, Mark, Andy, who else?

Wade I just realized you are talking about tomorrow... ... . CALL ME I need directions :-laf Oo.

9am Saturday 14 1640 Fall Creek Road, Wilson Co, near SuperSpeedway.

Phone there is 615-453-2300

my phone is 615-765-5522 be back tonight.

Mark, find 231 highway South out of Lebanon OR 840 to the SuperSpeedway. GET OFF and go to SuperSpeedway.

Don't stop at SSW, go to next left -Fall Creek Road- Drive around until you find it.

If you come out on 231 Highway--you missed it. Go back from whence ye came.

Fall Creek Road turns off 231 at the Fall Creek Church in Vine Community. The racetrack access road connects 231 and 840 and intersects 231 about 3/4 mile south of Fall Creek road. Fall Creek road connects from 231 to racetrack access road just east of racetrack.

Brent's place is on the racetrack end of FALL CREEK road. I'd guess about say 1. 640 miles from one or the other ends of the road.

IT's REAL DAMNED EASY to get there. no excuses.

dyno

Dyno Report

HOLY FUZZ, that was FUN!

Short version:

Gap (PistonSlapper) 99 2500 stock/auto 201-414

Eric (elamb) 02 2500 stock HO/6 235-486

Kirk (4 Ram Tracks) 03 3500 stock HO/6 262-473

Jim (non-TDR yet) 96 3500 Banks 5-sp 277-613

Me (WadePatton) 00 2500 UFM/6 343-800

Mark (Got Smoke?) 97 2500 #10-300's 400-870*

Rest of the story:

Had problems with getting the juicer to do right. Gearboxes rule when it comes dyno time. Jim's truck has some banks stuff, but we don't know just exactly what that means. And his plate is all the way back for EGT purposes as he pulls a 12k camper. Mark will have to figure out what numbers he wants to publish. I have 359/870 down for him before he moved his plate up. Then he ran many times but kept losing the tach signal. The room became very dark and sooty. (More fans next time). I don't doubt that he hit 400, but some of the torque numbers were a bit silly.

Super facility, service, and fun. Thanks Brent, Heath (MIA today), Andy, and John.

I'm WTFO, so I'm cutting this short BUT, I did run the ford! You know--the dyno guy's truck- Andy aka Hippie aka Sooty. I knew better, but thought what the hay, and we went from a dead stop.

Well his truck is a 2wd dually so he had two more tires for traction. But his truck is just a tad heavier than mine, couple hundred maybe. And his truck is an auto and they are usually faster in a drag race, and can build boost on the line. And he probably has tons more experience drag racing than I do. So are you ready for the results yet? :p

He got about a truck and a half on me as I spun the first two gears:rolleyes:, then when I finally got off the line, he never pulled another inch but I couldn't reel him in either. We ran up to about 105-110. Truck wise it was a draw. Did I say fun?:D

Now to retire the stock injectors!Oo. I mean heck, they've got 80k on them and one dyno session and why go to all the trouble of adjusting valves if you're not going to change injectors. They may be rusty or something. Can you say E-X-T-R-U-D-E H-O-N-E-D D-D-3's :D  That should take care of the "reel him in" part--of course my Michelins ain't a gonna like it. Yes there are some brand new 265 size dual-traces on US 231 and TN 452!!! Okay so we didn't limit our fun to the shop. (can you see the fatigue yet?)

I may add some more in the morning. I have photos and more details to come. ;)

Wade my 1st run with the #10 centered yielded 358HP 869TQ

You only mentioned my Injectors and Plate don't forget over valver I also have a 3K GSK & 16* timing. :-laf

After I slide my plate full forward and several!! runs later Andy said that I had a consistant 404HP but have no idea on the TQ till you help me figure out that mathematical way of doing it

Hat's off to the guys @ Delk Performance outside of Lebanon TN. Do you have any pics of Mr. Soot? :-laf Poor Andy I felt so bad when we got done and I saw him in the outside light!:(

We were only supposed to get 3 runs and I'll bet we ran my truck 10 times trying to fix that tach signal problem!

Oh and now my EGT's climb pretty quick with the plate full foward... ... going to Lowe's/Home Depot tomorrow for 4. 5" holesaw!Oo.

Saturday was alot of fun. I can't wait to do it again.

Mark - I got home that night and my wife said I thought you were going somewheres just to hang out? How did you get all that black stuff on you?:-laf

Eric

Okay Mark, if you set up a simple proportion equation "358 is to 869 as 404 is to N" and multiply 869 by 404 and then divide by 358 to find "N", you can get the number which represents the same percentage of torque at 404 hp as 869 was at 358. That's not the only way to get it, but is my fast and simple (sooty) way.

So have you done the math yet? I know you saw some numbers like this one. I mean, we turned some doozie torque numbers. Reckon their rollers are "loose"?

Heck, we'll get 'em loose.

With numbers like, what do you say--nine eighty  !!!

I've backed my "claimed" tq number to a two run avg. 797 just looks more believable than 800.

Good luck with the front end. You have to race Andy next time.

anybody need a 12v?

HEY BOYS! I talked to a guy with a 97 Club Cab 2500 4x2 5-speed today and he's thinking about SELLING it. I think he's NUTZ. It's white and has 200k or so on the clock. It may be a long bed.

He's the Murfreesboro Cornwell tool guy. I'll get his name and # and give the truck a closer look.

He was asking me what I thought it was worth. I was telling him about the TDR. Anyhoo. It'd make somebody a fine undervalved grocery getter. :D

Nother member possible

Ran into a 2001 Dark Garnet Red (same as mine) 3500 quad, 4x2, auto at the store today. I forgot his name but told him a little about mine and the TDR and showed him a little puff o smoke. Oo. Whoops!

And he's wanting a 4x4, so there's a good looking, unbombed 24v for the market. He lives real close-so holler if interested

I put him onto Lawrence, who bought ALL the back issues! Lawrence just had his truck to Dixie Diesel (Columbia). They fixed his Solenoid and Timing and he's happy with their service.

Heck I thought I posted about Lawrence on here. Welcome our newest Cannon County member Lawrence of Martin Mini Barns here on 53 HWY -6 miles south of Woodbury(1/2 mile from me). He drives a 96 12v Club Cab 4x4 2500 auto. The pump had been fiddled with and Dixie re-fiddled it. transmission has been uprated, but not by a big name shop. Mag-hitech pan on transmission.

Next he wants me to help intall gauges. Here goes another one down the slope!:D
