Hey all, here's something funny... I just met Piston Slapper. Turns out we have been working for the same company in the same building for a couple of years now, but have never met. He was pulling a U-e in front of the building to park, and spotted my tiny little C on the front qtr panel. He was one of the guys that was on my list to try and recruit for the TDR. I have been admiring his truck for a while. I had seen his a-pillar gauges, which indicated to me that he seriously into the truck. I got out of my truck, and he was running across the parking lot like a little girl to meet me (JUST KIDDING :p ). I wanted to run man... I was so excited to get to know someone else that loves their CTD as much as I do. Not to mention have someone to bug about what I do with the thing after I get the hood up! After the initial "Hey, how ya doin's", the first thing on both our minds was the TDR. We're both TDR-aholic's!

Anyway, good to meet you man. I look forward to a get together soon.

GREAT

I'm going to catch Mark at his work today. I want to check out his horns. And he spotted me last.

Reckon I should make smog clouds until he comes out?:p

Wade make sure to drive around back..... I'm in the lower service shop.

shoulda been there!

Okay Mark and I got to acting silly and started doing fog-outs in the parking lot--have you ever seen FIFTY brand-new cars disappear in the black haze?

And all those salesmen in white shirts were getting pretty mad--then the police and firetrucks showed up. I think we made the papers.

I just have to pay a fine for "random mischief and mayhem" and Mark is looking for a job.

Maybe the "chapter" idea isn't such a great thing...

NAH, we were good boys and drove down the road a bit. My truck sure does seem more civilized after riding/driving Mark's. Yes, I got the honor of trying to avoid a ticket with twin stacks belching the prettiest little clouds.

HO yeah, call Mark "Got Soot" from now on--the rain and open stacks have changed the color of his truck.

Thanks for the ride Mark, I'll have to get a clutch in mine. Then we might ride side by side for a bit.

Thanks for lunch, I don't think I said that yesterday! :(

If you had a good SBC yours would run pretty good..... to bad you didn't get to do a full throttle blast in mine!:--) :D Oo.

SHOP NEEDED

SBC is in the mail. Now I'm whoring for a shop to use. All I need is a 8000# lift and air. I have tools and can get monster transmission jack.

Anybody 'round here that can help out?

Hold the phone

Got shop with 10k lift and bigarse transmission jack. Oh it's sweet at the top. ;) So now that I'll be able to put my power down. I'm going to the dyno.

Okay, ya'll ready for another DYNO run? I'll check with Brent tomorrow. He may be too busy for a bucha stinkin' coal burners, but I'll see.

We should be able to come up with 5 or 6 trucks to dyno--huh, cain't we huh?

Dyno is near Nashville SuperSpeedway- Just off 840 at the Wilson/Rutherford county lines.

LEMME know who wants to do it.

ME ME ME! :D Oo.

I'd like to do it. What's the cost?

Also, I was talking to Piston Slapper yesterday... I'd imagine he would be interested as well.

IT'S ON!

$75 3-pulls should be the most we'd pay. More trucks can drive the rate down.

Saturday the 14 afternoon we can run 4-5 trucks max. If we can get 8-10 trucks, they might do Sunday the 22.

Let's get a sign-up going.

Me, Mark, Andy, who else?

Mid TN dyno directions

[EDITED]

From 840 get off and go to SuperSpeedway. Go past SuperSpeedway to first left -Fall Creek Road. Turn left go a mile or two and shop will be on the right. Cain't miss it--it's between a rock and a cedar bush. [Delk Performance 1640 Fall Creek Road, 615-453-2300]

We'll know more about what time closer to the 14th. We are the second "group" that day, that's why we are limited to five trucks. So around lunch or so. Mebbe we'll grab a pound of BBQ or something.

I'm counting possible FIVE right now. Mark (GotSmoke?), Andy, PistonSlapper, Kirk (4 Ram Tracks)and Me. Four is fine, three would be the least I'd want to go with and five is the tentative limit for that particular day.

**Duallys must pull outside wheels. **

Left my truck on the rack tonight with an uncooperative 5600 still "in" it.

GOT CLUTCH in and now to break it in. But had to stop for truck/tractor pull tonight... GAWD that looks like FUN!!!

Truck/Tractor pull

Barely got there in time to see the big diesel tractors run. :D

We have a VFD fundraising truck/tractor pull within walking distance of my house 2 or 3 times a year. It's not a real big deal, but some serious iron does run in the tractor and gasser truck classes.

The next one is in August and we ARTTA GET SOME CUMMINS POWER out there! There were about ten street-class gassers last night and THREE fords ran in street diesel. One or two of the street gassers had some experience. But the fords were just that--street fords that happened to be 4WD and oil burners. I know Mark could have outpulled them easy,:cool: pleased the crowd with smoke,:--) and probably started a protest from the ford boys. :{

So August __ we'll meet up here at my house and go to the pull and MAYBE hook to a sled. Oo.

AND I met a brand new TDR member today. Jay Sykes of the Boro has a 99 2500 4x4 QC SB gearbox-equipped rig. He'll likely come to the dyno. I'll call him "first alternate". And look for him to show up here soon.

truck pull

I pulled a sled two weeks ago. Pulled 182 ft. I beat everything there that was gas. 2x or 4x. I was rooster'n(chest out) something fierce!

See ya'll next weekend!

congrats on the pull piston slapper... .

i do have a first time CTD story to share a little of... lol. . the wife and i were out bumming around in her new truck yesterday. and we went out to Kanapoplis lake (west of salina, ks about an hour) and we were out checking out the 1500 year old indian caves in the side of one of the flint hills out here. well we get back almost to them and we come across a pretty good little mud hole. So she wants to try it. . lol. (she has never had 4x4 let alone been wheeling) so I say put in 4h and go for it. Well she gets in real good and we make it through the initial mud hole and slop our way back 200' to the caves. We check em out and walk around a little then decide to move on. Well we get back in the truck and I am guiding her back out of the REALLY SLOPPY MUD NOW... lol. when she comes up on the first mess. I tell her to stay to the left of it a little and keep the fuel to it. So what does she do? Head straight for it and goose it tooo much. SIDEWAYS... with a tree 5' in front and one 10' in back of her. So she works it for a little while and can't get anything going. She finally gives up and lets me get her out... LOL>... took about 20 min's of back and fourth romping, truck bouncing, mud splashing to get it out of there. Long story short, her new SWB QC , BRIGHT VIPER RED. is BROWN from head to toe... LOL. . i got some pics of it this morning before we washed it off... i will post them this week...

sorry for the long post just had to share

Russell

I may try to come, if there is no hay to bale, but I will most likely be watching instead of dynoing. I hope I can make it.

Dynatron

[EDITED]

Now I'm counting on 5 trucks:

Mine

Got Smoke? - Mark

Andyman -Andy [cancelled]

PistonSlapper -

4 Ram Tracks - Kirk

Alternates:

Jay Sykes

elamb - Eric

From what I read in signatures only mine and Mark's are putting out the smoke. I'll be able to run mine stock as well, then with the UFM. So comparing baseline numbers will be fun and we can compare them to what other folks get across the country on stock trucks. And then you can REALLY see what all the BOMBS do when you add them.

Brent says his dyno is extremely consistent, but typically reads a little lower than the one downtown.

They're closed on Mondays, so I'll call tomorrow and see how the other group is panning out.

Russell--The old manual hubs are good for keeping women out of the mud holes. ;)

So is she ready to go back in? Or have you shown her all the mud that got packed up under the truck.
