Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Ok folks, here goes,
My original termostat fluctuated between 170 and 140 deg (average about 155). I tried for years to get Dodge to replace it but they said it was normal (yea).
Now, 10 years later I gave up and replaced it myself. The latest and greatest thermostat ran about 160 deg (still to cool). No fluctuations though.
So: I replaced it again. I now have something that runs at abouot 175 deg with only very minor flluctuations. I think this is as good as it gets. After 10 years my baby is finally warming up to me!
