Well, I certainly did not set a record for fast install. 4 hours and one run to the hardware store (I needed a boost fitting for the engine). Went pretty painless. After the group install we did a couple weeks back, I knew what I was in for. First I installed the pump and bottle. Ran the lines from the bottle to the pump.

Next I pulled the intake hat drilled and tapped the underside for the injectors. After installing the injectors I hooked up the lines to the "T" and did a pressure test with the air compressor and some windex. Good thing too. I had a couple of leaks. EXPERIENCE TIP #1 - Using a center punch, I shoved it up the inside of the plastic lines to stretch out the ends a little to get a tighter fit where it goes into the quick connect fittings. Took me three disconnect and reconnect and two sections of lines to figure that one out.

I then installed the intake and cut and hooked up all the lines. The instructions call for the check valve to be mounted between the pump and the tank, I chose to mount it between the injectors and the pump. The check valve was not as free flowing as I would like, so I went with the old favorite, pumps push fluid, not pull.

Now the wiring. Pretty straight forward. I chose to install a relay to power the pump, rather than supplying the poser from a key on source in the cap, through the switch and out to the controller. Low power to operate the relay, heavier wire from the relay to the controller. and controller to the pump. Switch and LED for the system is waiting for my custom gauge pod to be made. Now it is just a sloppy wire pigtail jammed into a crack in the dash under the radio.

First test drive - My SOP dyno was off, as I was not as relaxed as I usually am, but there was definitely something there. Since I have no gauges yet (x-mas) I can not report on EGT or Boost pressures. My system is running 375ml and a 625ml injector. The variable controller starts pumping at 8psi, and full on at 15 psi. I was running a 60/40 Water/HEET mix.

I'll post when I get more results.

Right on, sticks

Glad you got in on this stuff too. Thumbs up to the guys that funded that kit.

TIP # 3. 5-

Be CAREFUL what ratio you are mixing in relation to ambient temps! I Have an 80/20 (20% methanol) mix going right now, and yesterday I looked in my jug of juice and it was almost completely frozen!! No damage, though-everything still works fine.

Go here:Methanol/Water ratio vs. freezing temp for info on freezing temps of different mixtures.

Also, I got to try the kit at about 5300 ft elevation and it works even better down there! And, that was with the 80/20 mix!

I asked at the local Autozone for methanol today and they dont have it. Where does one purchase methanol. What mixture is regular washer fluid, winter washer fluid,?

Got home late from work and there was the rubber tired big brown sleigh up the street. I know I haven't been good but maybe my christmas present was here. Sure enough the brown suited Santa said Hey (no Ho-Ho he was working overtime) I got a package for you. Snow Performane on the box. Yeah its here!

First I would like to thank Sticks and Jarndol for putting the buy together. I know it was a lot of work and time. Anytime you deal with any kind of group there are always lots of interest at first then it drops off like like a PSD trying to keep up with a Cummins on even the smallest of hills. Great job!

Second I would like to thank Matt Snow for the deal and an outstanding kit.

As a barnyard mechanic figured I better read the instructions. First time through, Ouch, no references to duct tape, baling wire, cutting tourch, hammer, or bigger hammer. I did see adjustable wrench, so maybe it won't be to bad. I'm sure I will have a few questions as I install it. Unfortunately it will probably have to wait until after the New Year.

They wont sell Methanol there. However, mlockner is using heet in his system with water mixed in. Hard to say with Windshield washer fluid, that stuff is cheap. 1 gallon could have 40% methanol, the next  You can buy Methanol at a lot of performance shops and even some fueling stations. I know there is a site online that you can buy it at too but you pay a pretty hefty UPS MSDS charge for delivery. I'll see if I can get that site info for you

Please don't misunderstand my comment "Anytime you deal with any kind of group there are always lots of interest at first then it drops off".

I should have said "most times". Obviously this group is serious and committed. My bad... ...

Installation/tuning tips

Greetings from Woodland Park! I'll try to get on here daily to answer questions and help with tuning issues. I'll be closed 12/25-1/1 for the holidays so if you have questions, ask on here so all can benefit. Thanks again to Sticks and Jeff Randol for all their help, clear communication, and hard work in putting this together.

Thanks,

I've been buying the -40 wiper fluid from Costco ($3. 00 for 2 Gal). According to the handy chart posted by mdivincentis (Thanks) -40 (C or F) works out to 42% methanol by weight or 50% by volume.

Mike,

Matt, Let me be the first to say welcome aboard!Oo.

Sticks and Jeff, if I didn't say it before thanks. A big thanks also goes out to you Matt for all of your time and patience to answer all of our questions also for doing the GP. Welcome aboard!

Thanks Mike( wooden head) - I wish I had a costco here, thats where I'd be getting my premixed!

Matt

Thanks for the info guys. I just got a Costco card a couple of weeks ago. I guess I know know where to buy my pre-mix for my new injection system. :D

Just got mine the other day also. Have to have spine surgery soon, so won't be getting around to the install for awhile too.

Only purchased the single nozzle setup just to cool down for steep climbs in the mountains. After looking over the instructions I can see that a little help may be in order.

Hope someone else bought the single so we can compare notes.

Single should be the same as the double, you are only drilling one hole in your intake, not two. Just refer to the instructions and the notes posted on this thread for tips.

BTW - HEY EVERYBODY! I may have found a solution for the fluid storage problem if you did not want to tap into the windshield washer bottle. All the parts can be bought at your local hardware or plumbing store, and you can pick and choose how big, and how many you want. Some assembly required.

I am going to get some 4" (would love to get 6") PVC sewer pipe, and the appropriate fittings. I am going to try to make two that will fit on either side of the intercooler, plumed together. I am hoping for at least 1. 5 gallons. The other option is to mount the same design under (inside) the bumper and plumb in a fill tube up into the engine compartment... . maybe all three. One could also make a 4 or 5 foot long one and mount it on the frame rail, and plumb in a fill tube up to the engine. Just need to find a low water level sensor to wire in. Whadda ya'll think of that?
