The members actually use this as an excuse for having so many problems with a certain product too. The arguement is. If there werent 50k members then there wouldnt be so many bad experiences.

I'm always in trouble over there becasue they think I am someone else, that has changed names about 5 times. Truth is I'm the same name that I have been on there, ever since I've joined them, which is the same as here.



Truth is, that is a private site, and they have the right to do what they want, no matter how fair/unfair you/we/others might think it is. Truth is I have gone out of my way to ensure that anyhting I post, and my siggy is always a-ok.

Perhaps true of MOST boards - but MY gripe at the time referred to was their deliberate comparison with THIS board - and their crowing as to how they would soon outdistance membership numbers here!



Fact is, THIS boards numbers are obtained by those who PAY to be here, and should reflect a far more accurate indication of those *REALLY* active than boards where all ya gotta do is sign up FREE to be counted as a "member" forever after - even if that was the first and LAST time you ever accessed that board!



They obviously got my point when I questioned their membership "accounting methods", and became VERY abusive towards me, and defensive of their actions...



Sorry if this is perceived as "knocking" a competing board - but poor treatment of users sure doesn't encourage much in the way of compliments or warm and fuzzy feelings, whether it occurs on ANOTHER board, or THIS one...

yep,,,,,,,,,when jackie started that site,,,,,,,, he was preachin all about how bad the censorship here was and how his site would have none of that. hmmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,tdr aint had a fraction of the censorship that dtr has. he was also cussin the 35 bucks spent and fact that some inactive members were still counted in the membership numbers. well,,,at least tdr goes thru once a year and culls inactive members out.

First, I would like to say that I’ve been a member here since 2000 when I bought my first diesel and needed a good source for information concerning something I knew little about. I have met many of the TDR members and consider every one of them as a friend. This is not to say that I have agreed on every subject we might have discussed, but I can say that the thought of making a comment like the one above has never entered my mind, whether it was face to face or on a public forum. Any one of the folks that help run the DTR would be the first to stop if you were broke down and needed help. Jack has not only spent plenty of money out of his own pocket, he has spent countless hours working on it to keep it going. Jack has also dedicated himself to helping others by volunteering his services with the North Carolina Canine Emergency Response Team who helped the victims of hurricanes Frances and Ivan.

This is NOT the kind of person that deserves a comment like the one above and I’m disappointed that the TDR Administrators allow it. .



I’m not going to debate the issues that some of you have with the DTR and I’m sorry that some of you feel the way you do. However, the bottom line is that the Site Rules are in place for a reason. Members must check the box that says they will abide by them when they register.

My grandmother died last week and I spent a couple days at her bedside at the end and I also had shoulder surgery on thursday and have been very limited in how much time I can spend online and so I've been skimming over the threads. I appreciate your frustration with other sites and your enthusiastic support of the TDR. But, we're such a good magazine/website that we can thrive without trashing others. Feel free to talk openly, but let's avoid any bashing of alternative sites.

I read those posts before even writing a reply and if for some reason someone doesn't like my opinion on something then tough. I call them how i see them and if you read all those others post you would have realized that i didn't mention any names, im sorry if my opinion was to strong for some to handle. Dieselminded - no offense, but to me it sure seems like you were using masonic's situation to whine about your personal issues or experiences in that thread. It sure seems like your posts would have been more appropriate in a PM. Now you post here wanting sympathy for your mute. Well, if you dislike that forum so much, why does the mute bother you? Compared to what you posted though, I do think the mute seems a little extreme - it's not like you were overly rude etc... . just a little out of place IMO.



Despite all of the immature forum bashing going on in this thread, primarily from people who probably acted out of line and got banned, I like the DTR. I often find answers or experience to questions that simply are not available on the TDR, and vice versa. They are both great resources and if you behave yourself within reason, you will not be bothered on either site. I voice my opinion whether negative or positive about any product on dtr, in a respectful manner. Never had an issue.

This so called situation has been discused with DTR management for the past MTh and if you dont click my links you will not get the full story plus you cant see the rude and insluting PMS ive been sent . Im not a fool Adn its not like I dont have anything better to do then complane about some where I cant go. I just want people to know how thing work. thats it no personal gain to me phisically or emotionally.



Not whinein at all the whole point of any of this is to prove the 8-ball thats exacally what happened I made the owner OF DTR mad on DTW when I never even said anything bad ????? I still dont know why he went off the deep end I never said nothing bad but when he turned his defence in to a personal attach towards me NOW I SEE HOW YOU PLAY!! Im not a mindless sheep and I refuse to be treated like one . I respect all the mods @ DTR and the hard work jack and lary put in to the site but this alone dont make them gods. ITs was almost my first post back on DTR and BAM banned he tried like hell to make it a worthy reason but as you guys can see its not ... lary even went on the thread and proved my point. its redictioulious
