Maybe just a LEETLE stronger than original.

What part of RV of your vehicle is this near the wheel well?
This is the right front wheel, about 2ft to the door. When the right front (DS) threw the tread, it beat the plastic section piece and metal lower body flat. Luckily, it didn't take out brake lines or leveling jack lines.

Replaced the brake pads, lubed guide slides all the way around today. Going to replace brake fluid and install wheels/tires tomorrow.

All the old shoes had worn evenly and had about 40% material left. No ridges on the disks either.

Ron,

I need that shop. Don't know what for but I WANT IT!

Re: YouTube it's not difficult any 14 yr old can do it. And you should have the option while uploading to make the video public all can see it or restricted so that you must have the link to see it. Your 14 yr old can help pin it down I forget the restricted term.

How's the screw collection doing?

Gary

What happen to Little Red Express truck project, have you move to way way back burner Ron, how is your ankle doing with brake project?

Yep Gary, I spend more time in the man cave than the house. I designed it to store my RV, to be able to stand up while on the RV, and of course the pool table and old DJ set up from an old friend. Its 60'x60'.

The top of the metal plate is giving me about level 6 pain with every step... Dr ordered a CT today, so going to schedule tomorrow. Just gotta figure out if is new normal pain or if something is wrong. Looking at it either a ligament or muscle seemed to be binding against the metal about 6 inches from where my former ankle was.

Finished the brakes, lubing and adjusting the bearings today and tomorrow gonna remove 4 of the 6 twelve ton jack stands and bring her back to the ground. I always keep 2 jack stands under the front while parked.

LRE just on the back burner for now... when I started it up last night noticed the fuel gauge not working and it's a little hard to start after setting a couple of days. I put a trickle charger on it and get back on it in a week or two. I'm going to start another thread on installing continuous duty air compressor on my 5500 and a couple of cameras.

Cheers, Ron

Having been flowing this thread a while now, You have been doing an awesome job on the LRT with each post I wish more an more that I had the funds to find and start a project like that. Some day. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the compliment on the LRE... It has been fun working on it. I looked at the fuel pump and its possibly original. gonna check timing to make sure its on the right mark, before considering replacing the fuel pump. I changed the fuel pump on my former 70 Monte Carlo and it cured the hard starting.

I certainly get the looks when driving it. It is bright and loud... really stands out.

Thanks again, Ron

Friends,

Stuff bothers me like a housefly buzzing around... went out to see if 12VDC fuel sender lead putting out 12VDC at the firewall of the LRE...welp, you guessed it...fuel gauge worked fine...didn't yesterday. Sooo, I started it... pretty rough idle, then smooths out nicely. Gonna order an exhaust manifold to air filter intake housing to pipe hot air into the carb AND need to search manual for vacuum line routing to get it to open heater intake on passenger side and close intake on driver's side. Need to put a timing light. Tach shows correct RPM at idle 800RPM.

But, got warranty half run out on my Viair continuous duty compressor still in the box for the 5500. Gonna start another thread for it so check it out.

In a couple weeks, gonna get all the engine stuff mentioned above on the LRE, need to put it on jack stands, pull the wheels and inspect brakes and lines, want to repack front bearings since I don't know their history, inspect and lube U-joints, and perform a physical inspection on the fuel gauge sending unit circuit from the firewall to the fuel tank.

Oh Oh, forgot to mention I bought cool rear window graphic. Chose this over limousine tint for rear window... I know, one more thing to do!

Sooo, I'll be back... Cheers, Ron

There's a pretty good chance of rain here, but if not for that, Vivian would be out in the LRE today. Yep, I feel nostalgic every time I walk by it. I love this truck.

Had a friend tell me he would have bought something from the 30s to the 50s, but this truck stood out above those to me.

Friends,

Ok I squeezed 30 minutes in my busy schedule to install window graphics today. I like it!

Kinda got that AMERICAN muscle theme.

Ron,
Did I miss something? Lookin' at the picture and noticed your license plate. Did you select the numbering as a custom plate? I briefly scanned the history of this thread and didn't readily find any reference.
I read an encrypted "Bygone 78 Dodge" or B1G one 78Dodge or biggie78dodge
B1 = By
61 = Gone
78 = 78
D = Dodge
