While you have the truck on axle stands why not check the rear end, maybe just change would be better then you know everything is nearly done.
Maybe even a power steering flush if it hasn't been done already.
Still awaiting a video with full sound to check the condition of them muffler bearings...don't want too much grease muffling that sweet 360's output.:):D

I'm thinking the same thing about power steering, using my turkey baster to remove the fluid. Yes, the truck has an amazing rumble. I'll see if I can muster up a video with audio soon.

IIRC the LRE should have “Hemi” mufflers with the dented corners.

It does have those Hemi mufflers and they have a great tone. Exhaust system is all new old stock (NOS), including stacks.

I have transmission being serviced Friday at 0900.

Ron, see if the transmission shop has type F ATF. Any Mopar racer dude knew to put type F in!

Copy, will do.

Took a quick pic of the Hemi muffler. These types of details are why I picked this truck. new chrome steps too.

The transmission Dr said my Torqueflight A727 is in outstanding condition AND did not need adjustment. I asked them about the Type F fluid and they told me they preferred to put synthetic in it for overall performance. I went along with it. It was rainy here today got the LRE dirty. Nice weather in TX Saturday: high 74, my Boss wants me to clean our bedroom carpet in the morning, then she will help me wash the LRE, and of course, I need to put a coat of Maguire's on it. the wood is new, but looks like it needs more Spar marine varnish. I have a low profile polished aluminum tool box thinking about installing in the bed; will use existing bolts attaching wood to the metal strips in the bed and some 2 inch rubber spacers (old shock grommets) so I can carry a few tools.

Have to share driving the LRE with those mufflers and stacks has a deafinite (clever pun) effect on my tinnitus. Basically, the roof is double welded steel with hollow shell and same with parts of cab. I added fatmat extreme inside the doors, so audio is crisp and clear. Gonna throw a hook out there and see what bites I get. Would ya'll think running a longer hose through the dome light opening and maybe through the windshield visors and spraying in some spray expansion insulation would help with the drone?

Also, I need help from the Mopar heads on removing the windshield wiper arms. From my first car, 1967 Dodge Polara with 318V8, I remember using screwdriver to pull tab out from wiper arm and pulling off... not so much. These may not have been removed in a LONG time. I don't want to scratch the valance, I need to reposition the wipers AND need to take off the valance to install my GM windshield washer jets.

Next RV trip out, I'm thinking of broadcasting here and if I get near any of you, have you over for a beer and burger. Hey, that's the benefits of life in America.

Thanks, and I'll send more pics as I do stuff.

Cheers, Ron

Ron,
IIRC you should be able to pull the wiper arm up and back which would pull the retainer spring tab out of the way. In addition, a little coaxing and wiggling on the wiper arm attaching socket part, thumbing it back and forth opposing the arm lift motion while lifting it off of the knurled shaft. Sometimes they get pretty corroded and challenging. Or, buy a wiper arm removal tool from the 1968 JC Whitney catalog.;)

My FSM’s (‘69, ‘72) are out of my reach at this time, but I do seem to recall a special tool. To try now, I’m with Bruce.
Shame there’s drone, I guess the stacks so close to the cab might be too much. I know there are some slip in the pipe baffles. Maybe that’s an option?

Eh...What's that? Can't hear whatcha sayin' at all. ;)
I say take that noise reduction system from your 2019 RAM and transplant it in the '79. Supposed to quiet the cabin down quite a bit. (I don't notice anything quieter in my '19) I am not sure foaming the inner sanctum of the cabin would be a benefit or a rust trap being set. Not enough foam in such a thin application to make a significant dent in the din. Just crank up the stereo and you shouldn't notice the harmonizing from the choir of 8 as much.:D

Ron, you may want to consider these for waxes, I have been using them for a few years.

A can or tin as some call it will last a very long time and the actual wax lasts at least a year. I am getting partial to the 915 after seeing the beading on the Daughters car in Minot 2 years after applying it. Of course durability is dependant on your specific climate. Just my opinion and $.02.

Friends,

I took a friend for a ride in the LRE who was a former worker on an aircraft carrier launching F4s... we both have tinnitus and both had ringing ears. Windows down, this baby talks to you. The amp has about 1000watts and sub 1200. Honestly, the ringing I hear 24/7 is a little worse. Gotta get my earplugs out to save my ears.

Cheers, Ron
