Mine was noticable under light throttle with no load, towing it did it all the time, sent my TST back for a flash in November, got it back with no popping at all, just a slight surge at certain rpms.

Maybe check the big ground at the bottom of the block, I removed this cable when I installed my PMCR to get a better view of the crank and cam sensors

Jumbo Jet, the only thing I would change about the installation would be to paint the mounting brackets black before installing. You see the mounting brackets over the wheels and although they don't look bad, I think they would look a lot better painted black to match the frame instead of grey.
