POLL: What to do about the Drug problem?

I drink on occasion, maybee once a week, or even once a month. Not a "Drunk" by any means, the fact is, I don't recall the last time I was "drunk", well over a year ago tho. Nothin' against drinkin', I just don't make a point of it, I can take it or leave it. So no Doc, not an animal here. :D

I'm glad you asked

I will start out by saying that I have had a few drinks in my life. I think it is pretty hard to go through life without doing so, especially living in the home of an alcoholic. I will not drink any alcoholic beverage because I think it is wrong to do so and I have seen what it can do to a family. My dad is an alcoholic and had a very bad influence on our family life when I was growing up. I don't even like to be around people who are drinking. It just doesn't seem like a very reasonable thing to do to lose mental capacity and like that you are doing so. I also believe that the Bible says not to drink. I know that is going to open up a can of worms, but this forum is for expressing ideas and opinions, right? Just read I Peter 4:1-4. My $. 02

jwgary,

Are you differentiating between having a beer/glass of wine and getting drunk?

I enjoy a beer on occasion but haven't intentionally gotten drunk since my college days. Last time I was drunk was a friends bachelor party and we had a keg of Mendocino Brewing Eye of the Hawk - after two pints most of us were on the floor sawing logs. Just wasn't used to/expecting the alcohol content of the Eye. The stuff sure is tasty though... .

With a last name of Schultz what do you think?Them Germans like beer. Boy did I use to drink. I couldn't go anywhere without a beer between my legs(use to hear that all the time from the wife). All ways had a cooler full of beer in the truck. Icebox full in the garage. When we got married my wife had to drag me away from the dance. I was having to good of a time with all my buddys. My father-in-law told me he would pay for everything. But the beer I had to pay for it. We had 10-13(can't remember exactly) kegs back in 1973.

But since I totaled out the 95 I had on a tree on 3-15-98 about 1. 5 miles from the house on my way home about 2 or 3 in the morning. Should of got a DWI that night. But I guess they figured I done enough that night. In the hospital for several months, wound up in a rehab place, had to learn all the basic things over. Got out and wqs able to come home, had to go to another rehab place weekly, then about 6mos later had to have an operation due to the wreck by one of them cardiothoracic/vascular surgens. Have not had a drop since then. Don't have no desire for it. Been offered it quite a few times. Never thought this would happen to me(going without beer).

I have a customer with a very large SCHLITZ tattoo on his arm, a very dedicated man.

Can you still buy that stuff?

I am 28 and had my first drink at 26. I CANT drink beer, it is nasty. All i drink is Jagermeister (Once i am wrecked, i drink anything handed to me). After spending alot of time partying with bands on OzzFest and the POA tour, i think i drank enough in the last year to make up for all the years i have not drank.

MANY a night we started out drinking at one venue and then woke up on the bus in another city. Its amazing to see how much fun people have watching you get inebriated.

My time off now is VERY NICE but will end soon. I am enjoying the TDR while i can.

Doc-I'm kinda disappointed that you left 1 choice off the poll-"Not Enough!" :)

Can you tell I like booze? :p Wise old age has taught me there is a time and place for it-work is not that time. Neither are funerals. Everytime else is pretty much fair game... ... . ! Although I don't get near as carried away any more as I used to when I was younger at ball tournaments. At that phase in my life, I never liked beer very much. So I drank Screwdrivers. When we all woke up the next day my buddies would have a beer and Clamato to ward off the hangover. I'd mix myself a light one... ... usually by around 2:00 the Screwdrivers would turn into Impact Wrenches and by 4:00 or so I would be having a nice little power nap waking up just in time for the evening party! That would bury me now-but it sure seemed like a lot of fun at the time! :D

I probably drink too much... but I don't drink the cheap ****, and I say if God didn't want me to drink so much beer, he wouldn't have made it taste so damn good! ;)

I probably put down 8-15 pints a week on average, but sometimes I'll get on kicks where I'll knock down a couple cases over the course of a weekend!

but overall, w/ beer, I can moderate my intake... liquor is a WHOLE different story... I can't do liquor too much because I drink too much of it... it fires me up... beer sedates me and stones me a little better, so I don't drink so much... guess I just wanna be sedated? :p

Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy.

--Ben Franklin

Beer, the cause of and solution to all of lifes problems.

--Homer Simpson

There is no problem that can't be solved over a couple of beers.

--Me

There is no such thing as a bad beer, some are better than other, but none are bad.

I think I'm the only person of German and Irish origin that dont drink daily. :D At least that I know.

I've actually had beer expire on me!!! I keep it in the event company wants a drink.

I do drink occasionally. I enjoy a good beer with a meal. When I'm out to "get a buzz"... it's Jack Daniels for me. :p Thats not too often.
