Sorry I have not posted recently, been out and busy. . I am sitting at the Holiday Inn writing post #1200 at 3:39 AM... BORED!!! Thank God for free internet access and the TDR!!!!

Well, got a Duramax for snax yesterday... guy pulls right out in front of me in the left lane. . I am cruising about 70-75 and he is maybe going like 55-60. . I get right up on his back bumper, notice he has a 4" exhaust; then he tries his best to make smoke and walk off. . Bad idea! so, he does, and I am right on his tail again. . This time, he punches it, and I soon follow, and am still gaining on him. . he moves over, slows down, so I slow down, he nails it, so I take it he wants to run Black Betty. . I mat it, and soon walk off from him. . I move over, ease out of it, and completely black him out in a wannabe Fulmer type cloud!! The sad part is this: My truck has close to 275,000 miles (248k on the clock, but tires offset it 9%) and paid less than ½ of what he did. I guaruntee he was scratching his head, wondering what kind of chip I had! hehehehe, oh well... it was fun!! Just thought I would post this, and bring my thread back up to the front!

I go to school at Dartmouth and it being a college campus, pedestrians have the right of way in most places. I was making a left at the main intersection of town in a long line of cars, where pedestrians do not have the right of way, when two girls dressed like it was the middle of the summer, stepped right out in front of me without even looking. So I lost some of the rubber on my tires coming to a stop but was able to lay into the horn pretty good(along with every car behind me honking too) and turn on all of the offroading lights. One of the girls turns and gives me that look of disgust so I figured that they needed to be taught a lesson. I punched it and put the tailpipe about 6 inches away from them as I went by. Not only did I cover them in smoke but I was even lucky enough to blow one of their skirts up. The bellman at the Hanover Inn(the nice hotel in town) gave me a big thumbs up as I pulled away. I can't justify big clouds of smoke all of the time but every now and then, people require me to.

What do you got for fuel?

I suspect that the previous owner may have turned up the fuel a bit and maybe installed a 3k gsk. I can't smoke it all that much when lugging it but right around 2700rpm it blows smoke like crazy with the pedal to the floor. I get somewhere around 24-26psi of boost on the stock charger at this rpm and way too much fuel. I have only taken the revs to 3k but it hasn't noticeably started to defuel at that point. I can't blow smoke like some of the rest of you guys but I can get enough pressure back there to lift a girls skirt when she is only 6 inches away.

I don't smoke people for the hell of it, but on rare occasion when I feel its called for evil Jim comes out Coming home from coffee night friday night, there are 2 straight lanes in the intersection, and one turn left lane. as I was approaching, the light was red and the left turn lane had a car full of kids in it and the right-most straight lane had this clown in a ford explorer in it yelling at the kids in the turn lane half hanging out the window, middle finger etc. so Here I come in the middle lane between them, and there is no one in it. The light turns green and Im still in 3rd from downshifting, Approx 1100 rpm and I just hammer it. When I went inbetween the 2 cars I had such a cloud rolling I looked back and barely saw headlights of the dude in the explorer. He didnt try to catch up or anything to holler at me but Im dam sure it was because he was still trying to figure out what just happened :-laf It sounds confusing and it would have been awesome if you could of been there to see it but thought Id share it with you guys anyways

So I'm 62-w. . the last exit before 35w (north in my case). there's this road Portland that enters the highway. I see a car come down the entrance. I back off and let this one in..... then I see FLASH! in my mirror and all of a sudden there is another car right next to me in and on the bumber of the car that was attempting to merge in front of me orignaly!



The roads wide at this point, so people like to kind stay to the right always. you could fit 2 lanes if you tries for a few more 100 feet.



so I'm like. WTF, what happened to ever other car?. Punk! So I run up to the other half of the bumper on that car that should be infront of me and start wedging over to ths shoulder the dumb punk.



So she starts to back off and gets in behind. . tells me I'm #1!



Over and over. each and every time I get the finger and she waves her hand in front of her face to attempt to clear out the smoke from infront of her.

the other night my wife and i are headed into town at the RR tracks a car gets right snug with my bumper my wife doesnt like me racing cause she thinks ill get caught but this time she said smoke'em out and i like to do what my wife tells me to do :-laf i get on it hard and you cant see anymore of those headlights behind me (cause of the smoke) so at the next stop sign we turned on to the main highway and wouldn't you know it it was my mother ya'll yes my wife feels horriable and i dont let her live it down cause we have been only married for 3 months i guess thats what my wife thinks of my mom

I know it was wrong, but yesterday, going to work, a car was stalled in the middle lane on 281... I had to seize the opportunity and let 'er roll the coals! I got into 3rd gear at the right time, and just mashed the 'taters right through the radiator, looked over, and just about ALL the traffic came to a stop... it's amazing the extra little amount of smoke you can get if you stand up in your seat!

The other day I was in Columbus at the Home and Garden Show which is at the Fairgrounds and they were having gocart racing in another building on the grounds and I'm an exhibitor at the home show so I have a pass to get around to the back of the main buildings for front row parking. So I'm rollin round the back and there's a crew outside tuning in there gocart and the guy drivin it was tearing around and when he saw me he came flying over to my truck and whipped it around and came up on my passenger side like he wanted to race so... . I sped up just a little until his head was literaly 2-3 ft. from my tailpipe and my foot went thru the floor and holy balls!! It was the most serious soot job I ever saw cause my truck truck can roll sum good rich clouds and was almost feeling bad about it when I saw all of the pit crew giving me thumbs up and they were laughn there ***'s off!

i love it :-laf the new guy at work races shifter cars, i may of gotten some balding guy in a open convertible sunday that was riding my bumper by "accident" after i was noticing some decent puffs (for my rig) now that it's getting warm

On my way home from work I went into town to get mom a b-day card. Left wally-world and heading back thru town I came to a light where a SUV infront me (black ford exlporer pretty new) with "up in smoke" accrost the back window in old english lettering turned so I followed as that was the route I was taking. I cought the COOOOOL dual pipes... must have been 2. 25" tips sooo I move to the left lane to get ahead of the vehicle... I notice a young couple (college age) and I figured he would try and punk me so I turned the box to 5x5. Sure enough he matted it... I remaied calm but still stayed close. He slowed down so I got next to him and PUNCHED IT... smoked a bit, turbo lit and that was it!!! the 6cyl walked away..... I came back to the 35mph speed limit :-laf then the road goes from 2 lane to 1. .



The guy tries to creep up on the right... I didnt let that happen so its 1 lane and hes on my bumper!! sooo bad I cant see his headlights!!!! welll... RPM comes to 4th gear shift... . BAM shifts and the motor lugged and I rolled right into it!!!! sooo much smoke the guy was in the middle of the road!!! so I kept the old girl about that low lug speed and kept smoking him out a few times. I was excited as all heck Oo. he rode my tailgate after that (must have been to read the "CUMMINS 24Valve Turbo Diesel" Decal... ?? then ol hotshot decided to pass so I let him go about is way. I had fun!!

I usually get to tangle up with someone nightly at work these days, and Monday night was no different. I was almost home, just minding my own business, and this Pontiac Grand Prix was on the highway in the lane next to me. . I was easing up on him, when all of a sudden he mashed it... Ok, we're going to play. . I virtually instantly spool up my 40, and away we go! I am coming up on him like a ticked off Kenworth, Turbo a' screamin'!!! All of a sudden he looks over his shoulder, sees me about to eat his @rse, and lets out of it... Kind of wierd, but he didnt want to play after that. . At least if you wanna bite something off, chew it as well, ya know?! Oh well, just thought I would post and get this thread back up to the top!

Question- as i look at many of the signatures in these posts, i see most, if not all are manual trannys. is there really any way to get a good cloud from an 04 with a stock CTD and an auto? Id like to prove a point to a good number of these tree huggers who drive these beat up 94 cavaliers or whatever, who are too naive to understand that my 7000 lb truck gets better mileage than their 4 banger that hasn't had an oil change in 10,000 or an air filter cleaning. ever. "whats an air filter? why does my car need air?" thanks.

Question- as i look at many of the signatures in these posts, i see most, if not all are manual trannys. is there really any way to get a good cloud from an 04 with a stock CTD and an auto?

The biggest problem with a stock auto trans, is the torque convertor isn't really tight enough to load the engine as good as a modded one will. Plus, a stock 3rd gen turbo has such a small turbine housing, it spools fast, and doesn't get maybe more than a puff. I know a 3rd gen with a 6spd can smoke a little. 'Bout the same as what my truck did when stock.



With my stock auto, I coudn't make as much smoke as what I could after the new one. I can smoke in 1st gear now. Particulally with my current setup.
