The Night before Christmas

Like "rolling coal" ??

Here's a Surprise

You know. . I think I've stated my point about a donzn times before, so I'm going to keep my trap shut on this... for now at least. :-laf

Lightman,

I don't want to be a pr*ck or sound like one, but seriously, please leave this thread and don't post to it anymore. Everyone knows and understands your point of view (ok, maybe everyone doesn't understand it) but everyone that LOVES this thread is tired of hearing about what terrible people we are for smoking out innocents.

The people who enjoy the smoke shows like to post about them and we have some sort of comaraderie on here. All you are doing is saying how terrible you think it is what we do... . ok, we get it, good, great, have a nice day.

As far as smoke goes, when I'm done doing homowork for the night I'll post about getting smoked by (and smoking) an '03 Audi S4 today (and no, I'm not jealous of the punk kid who owns it... his parents bought it for him, he's spoiled, and doesn't know the meaning of hard work... I know him personally, and know that to be the truth).

Josh

EDIT: I'll gladly debate anything regarding this topic Lightman and Dl5treez want to through PM, but can we please keep it out of this thread?

Well the way I figure it, the :-{} won't get either of us anywhere. We are both seated in our beliefs about the issues so there's no point in starting I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER again. We both know how the other feel about stuff so what's the point? I'm sure before too long I'll have something worthwhile to add. I do agree with snowracer. If ya'l lwant to have a debate on this topic, by all means lets start another thread or PM each other, but let's get this topic goin back right.

Nah, that'd be too easy!

Dl5treez, I'm done w/ the arguing on this topic here... If you're that worried and want to argue with me, then by all means throw me a PM. I have no beef in arguing with you, or listening to your opinion, lets just stop doing it here (which was the ENTIRE point of my last post, yet it didn't stop).

Don't know if this qualifies or not but I thought I'd throw this out there.

Sunday I stopped at a bank for a second to check some stuff in my bed (was making sure the beer bottles weren't busting on my gooseneck ball). the bank has those glass mirror type windows fyi. I went to take off in 1st and I noticed my truck farted out a little black smoke. I was so proud I did a dance right there in my rig. Oo. Come to think of it, maybe that's why those people were looking at me funny. :-laf Can't wait to get my injectors.

Don't know as this really qualifies as a "smoke" story, but I enjoyed it alot. I was sitting in Arby's this afternoon enjoying my dinner when this guy comes in with his buddy and they are all excited and gabbing about his new dodge. I look out in the lot and there is a very nice brand new 1 ton dually diesel. I heard them comment about mine so I spoke up and introduced myself. As we got to talking I found out he knew alot of my cousins around the southern Minnesota area and had heard about my truck. I told them I had just added the comp box this August and had been through some other hassles with the clutch and what not but now everything seemed to be running good. We went out and he let me make a run in his. I have to say the new Dodges have alot to like, but I am still more impressed with the 2nd gen as a whole. If they redid the interior a bit I might be swayed though. Kinda like upping from the pre quad cabs to the post on 2nd gens. Anyway, then I take him for a run in mine and he is definitely impressed. We get back to the Arby's parking lot and there is a couple of Kids looking at his truck. He says hi and they start trash talking his truck saying that their ford powerstroke could kick his ass. I am guessing it is a 97 or 98, as it is still the pre 99 body style but had the goofy powerstroke stickers on the side. Anyway he smiles and says "How much?" Then they kind of shut up. As we are leaving we all pull out onto a four lane highway (two in each direction) and are sitting at the stop light, the new dodge and the powerstroke are side by side in front of me and I am behind the new dodge. Now the new dodge is an auto and the powerstroke is an auto and I am a manual. SO the light changes and they romp on it. They of course get out ahead of me a bit, but I get through the gears and in fourth I am gaining hard. The dodge is easily moving ahead of the ford and so I shift into fifth and nail it. Just a nice quick puff of black smoke just as I slide from behind the dodge and in front of the ford and then leave them all behind. About a mile and a half or so ahead is another light The guy with the new Dodge (I cannot remember his name for the life of me right now) and I are now side by side and the guy in the ford is sitting about two car lengths behind us(nobody in between). As the light is about to change I can see ford guy in my miror moving onto the shoulder and gunning it. I am thinking first of all that is extremely stupid and dangerous and second of all "NO WAY!!!" I nail it, and am rowing gears when I hit third I left him behind again, he immediately pulls off onto a side road and goes into a convenience store lot. As the highway narrows down to one lane in each direction, I pull off and the new dodge pulls in behind me. We are laughing it up when Ford boy comes on down the highway. wouldn't even look over at us. I thought it was great. Like I say not much smoke, but a few nice puffs to let him know I was no slouch. Can't wait to get some injectors and really smoke it. We had several powerstroke Fords when I was still living on the ranch and I would not be ashamed to drive one now, but ever since the first time we test drove a cummins I have been hooked. I always liked the big rig feel. Now I just have a big rig that can haul some serious a**:D

:D Pickin' on PJD's... doesn't get better then that!!

BTW, my favorite line for people when they ask why I had to make my truck so fast... . (yes, I stole it from someone on here, but don't remember who... )

"It's cause I'm always haulin' so much a$$!"

yeah, i drove a friend's 2 week old reg. cab F250 4x4 6. 0 yesterday and they are fast stock! they pull very hard above 3000rpms for a stock truck. i was reading on the ford page earlier today that a crew cab short bed was running 14. 5's with a 100hp chip. nice transmission, and with the bugs worked out, it's a nice motor (no, it's still no cummins).

Hey...

Why do the new Ford 6. 0s leave a drip trail?

So they can find there way back home!:-laf :-laf :-laf

Ok, sorry for the low blow... I will impose punishment on myself. I will just go drive my '99 Cummins with 148,000+ miles and no leaks! Doh! Bad boy!

Oh, an edit so as not to highjack the thread... I can puff ===> smoke <=== at will out of mine, but don't.

Now that you mention it, I was in Marshall, TX this morning. As I was sitting at a stoplight I noticed that I was subconsciously enjoying the scent of diesel coming from nearby. I looked and noticed the right lane was covered in spilt diesel and lots of oil. A short distance later I saw a brand new 6. 0 going slow in the same lane. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. :-laf

Rebel...

Was it smoking? Was there a trail of diesel and oil in front of the ford? If not, we know for sure where it came from... . :p

I've been known to let the smoke fly... well pretty often for tailgaters... .

The Fords... . must be a great motor..... a guy I work with bought one... 1800miles later the rear main was leaking so bad he had it towed in. He's the BMW shop Forman..... he knows the difference between a leak and a seep... .....

The Ford philosophy started with the model T. Ole Henry said "You can have a model T in any color you want as long as it's black. "

Customer Service at it's best.

Ahh, I love rich people with no common sense!!!

Today, I was on my way home from work, in normal afternoon traffic, doing about 50-60. . I saw a mercedes cutting in and out of all 3 lanes of traffic, and knew they would be on my tail sooner or later. . Sure enough, middle aged guy, wearing suit and tie, talking on the phone of course decides to get on my tail and flash his lights repeatedly as to say he was in a hurry. . Hey! so am I!! Too damn bad. wait just like the rest of us. I blew I think 3 or 4 warning clouds, decent ones, not just poofs, and finally I let him have it... After smoking 2 of the 3 lanes of the highway, he finally got the hint!!! Or so I thought... he is back again, but this time just riding my tail... Fogging #2, COMING RIGHT UP!!! haha, anyways, I smoked him again this time, and he finally backed off for good... then cut across 3 lanes of traffic to take the next exit, which he almost missed and crashed into the sand barriers... . Dumb@ss.....

Oh well, that's my laugh of the day.

-Chris-

Charlan, did you ever consider he actually had a pressing matter and was in a hurry? You know people's wives do go into labor, etc etc... .

I think it could have been important, but if it was an emergency such as labor, the runs, etc. the correct thing to do is to turn on your emergency flashers.
