I'm on my 2nd Comp box, and its starting to go out.

My first one lasted almost 2 years.

Here is what happens... .

The box acts like its off, but the lights are on.

For example I can turn the box on any stage and after about 5-10 mins of normal driving I will give it some throttle and the box isnt working. It acts like its off but the lights are on.

Now to fix it I can either,

1. Turn the box off and right back on and everything is fine for another few mins.

2. Change the stage level, I can either turn it up a stage or down one and it works like a charm instantly.

This is what my 1st comp box did but it didnt start this until after almost 2 years. I have had my new box for 5 months and its acting up.

I have everything hooked up like they tell you to, I have moved my ground to my battery and back to my air horn a few times thinking that was it but that does not fix it.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a fix?

I want some input before I send it to Edge and get the run around. I want to aviod sending it back to Edge 3 times like my last box before they finally agreed it was bad RIGHT after the warrenty was up.

Mine does the same thing, I'm pulling out again to send it in for repair. Last time I sent it in was they said it bench tested good so they upgraded it the the drag version. It would work fine for a while then act up, sometimes it freezes and you can't change the settings or turn it on or off unless you unplug it and plug it back in - then it will work ok for awhile. Or occationally it will have the 1st,3rd,5th light on and be froze. I've had mine for a few years now I'm hoping they will warranty it.

I also went through all the wiring, I even moved my power cable to a different power souce thinking the opening and closeing of the door was buggering up the connection on that silly fuse jumper. I have moved the ground, and cleaned and lubed all connections.

My 3 year old comp had the same problem with not being able to change the settings. Just locked up. Checked the ground and connectors and then sent it in. New one has been fine for a year and a half.

I am grounded to the air intake now. I had it to the battery but I was getting corrosion so I moved it.

I am thinking it is a power problem but the stage level lights never go off or flicker.

Maybe the box isnt getting enough volts or amps by way of the fuse setup they give you?

It drives me nuts because when I pull I like to run stage 1-3 and it will stop working about the time I go to pass someone or hit a hill. SO I have to change levels up or down and its fine for a few miles.

Is the comp getting power when the key is turned to start? I had problems with mine cause I had it on a circuit that only supplied power when in the run position but not start position. The 12v going on-off-on quickly when I started the truck would cause it to lock up with lights on and be non-functional.
