I have an 03', had some Tint put on the Drivers and Pass. windows. After a period of time I noticed streaks on the tint! When I asked the tint folks about it, they told me that this had happened one time before. It is due to the Rubber Seal/Wiper they used on 03' models. In 04' they changed them to felt. This corrects the problem. I ordered two from the dealer at the cost of $60. 00. However, I filed a complaint with the district rep, stating that the the rubber Seal/Wiper damaged my tinting and that I should not have to pay for the new ones. Plus DC must have known this was a problem or they would not have changed them.

This is old news, their are post on this in the past. Their is a TSB on it and they will replace for free. Do a search of past posts and you will find it.

There is a TSB out on that, I just had the dealer replace all 4 doors on mine witht the replacement one that have the felt on it. The TSB number is 23-025-03 and specifically mentions after market film tinting.

Thanks for the info guys. I can see by the date of this TSB that it is in fact old news. What puzzles me is why DC never notiified me about this. Plus I check some other recall websites and none of them mentioned this TSB.

I have never been notified on TSB's only on outright recalls. Luckily I have a friend at the dealer so I check the tsb's very often!

I printed out the TSB and have fax'ed the info to the dealer. Again thank for the info from everyone. TDR is really a good source of information, and friends!

Are you behaving yourself Greg?

I took the truck over to my local dealer. They claim that because the seals are not bad or damaged, I can not just have them replaced just because. I have them checking with the Field Rep.

I also put a call into my friend that works for DC. Maybe I need to take it to another dealer! This is BS!

The resaon theres a tsb is too correct this, not if bad or good. Cheez some dealers. They just need to do the tsb and they'll get paid by D. C. Egg heads!!!

Have the complaint written up as window being scratched adn them the TSB is the procedure to correct it. It states right in the TSB what part numbers to get and how much time DC will pay to have it done. I saw the TSB when mine started scratching and ordered theparts prior to bringing the truck in. When they came in I was in and out in about 45 minutes, counting write up! Now if they would just pay to fix my tint I would be happier!

As far as getting the tint replaced, they told me that it I get the seal replaced they will do the tint over for nothing. He said that it was not my falt and that he did the same for another customer. I have been doing business with the same shop since 1985.

The problem with the missing felt was only some '03s. I had my '03 1500 hemi tinted & had no problem with scratching. BTW, the '03 had a dark tinted rear window. The '04 doesn't . My tint guy pointed out the change when I took the new truck in for front door tint. Had to have him do the rear window also. Another money saver for DC.

I spoke to the Service Mgr. again today. Now he is telling me that he sees no problem getting the seals replaced... go figure!

Who doesn't cut corners to save money these days. I still like my Dodge better than Ford or GM. No one can blame those other two for being overly generous with their products! If you want more for your money these days in vehicles you almost have to go Asian. In the past 20 years of buying Asian vehicles, I have to say I was never disappointed with any of the vehicles. I can not say the same for the Fords or GM products I have had. I think that the big three are getting there... but they still have some miles to cover.
