Sticker price on my truck was $92,000 CAD. I walked out the door with it for $80,400 with extras and taxes all in.

Would never have have bought it without having my deal with work.

Likely be my last truck.

After I paid the taxes and registration on my 2016 I paid just over 52k . But a lot of that went to Taxifornia.

I bought what I wanted, and my truck even before the discount was 10k less than a Ford. I got a proven engine.

My 2012, which I bought for 12 grand under sticker, was bought back for a little over 4 grand from which I bought it for 4 years earlier. That allowed me a huge down payment on the new truck which stickered at over 76k usd. I ordered it from Dennis Dillon as they gave me a rock bottom price, then added another grand off from a USAA coupon and will end up paying 36k out of pocket for the next 3 years @1.5 percent interest courtesy of PenFed.

When I bought my 2012, I got a great trade value for my 2005 and over 11k off the 2012, so had an even less out of pocket expense.

The OP's point is well taken. But, my deals have shown that as the price of new vehicles creeps up, trade values stay at least relative if not better.

I don't think my next one will be new either. I just can't afford it. My buddy says its only money, but work buys his trucks. I don't think it is going to take another 10 years to get to that 100k mark either.

Same here. Will keep the Mega Cab period. When the '97 gets too rusty I will go find a Southern 2nd gen gasser or whatever and swap the bodies...

By that time.......Southern 2nd GEN bodies will be bringing $35,000 :-laf

That would about be my luck too!!!! But the metal termites have really started to take a toll on the '97 so maybe next summer I will fly out and find a 2nd gen gasser that I hope will make it home....

Mike, we restored a '94 for a friend of ours here. We purchased an entire body (cab, doors, complete front clip, and bed) from a company down south. The delivered it to our garage and helped us unload.

They don't guarantee all parts to be from the same truck, but in our case, the delivered a complete 1500 gasser body that truly didn't need painted. We ended up painting it back to the original color for him though.

When you get ready to start in your '97, I'll get the contact info to you.

Shoot, sold my 2004.5 Laramie dually 4:10, nv5600 , 113000 miles for 25000.....over half of new price on a 12 year old truck. Sold in 1/2 an hour... Should have asked more I guess...

Looking at the new 2016 trucks... I'm seeing stickers prices of over 75000!!!!. We just bought our last new vehicle, can't swing it any longer. Funny how these trucks lose 50 percent of that price right after registration! Where does that equity go? We put 23000 down on 10,000 off Msrp and are barely even on trade. Will anyone here buy another new truck?

Yes......................

Hope to buy new truck before retirement and that will be it for a long time. I will need to run my 2nd Gen for at least another 2 years.
I don't drive my truck in winter so being a Wisconsin truck it looks real nice. I had a young man at the local dump ask what year my truck was and told him 2002 and he just about fell over. He asked if I wanted to sell and I came back with a price immediately...he shook his head..all well! Like I said, I have a few years to go.

Window MSRP on mine was $87,000 (the Ram one) drove it off the lot for $64,000.00 (Canadian). This was with a fleet discount though.
