I just now built close to the exact truck that I own now, a 4X4 3500 SLT SRW short quad. Adding the Aisin, 5er package, and maybe one other trinket. It was $57k. I think this is a fantastic deal. Those wanting a $80,000 truck are WAY better off than me or have visions of grandeur.
And us retirees on fixed incomes will be screwed! SNOKING
They should have planned better.![]()
We are believe me!!!!!!!!!!You youngins should mind your manners and keep paying into SSA!!!! SNOKING

My 2012, which I bought for 12 grand under sticker, was bought back for a little over 4 grand from which I bought it for 4 years earlier. That allowed me a huge down payment on the new truck which stickered at over 76k usd. I ordered it from Dennis Dillon as they gave me a rock bottom price, then added another grand off from a USAA coupon and will end up paying 36k out of pocket for the next 3 years @1.5 percent interest courtesy of PenFed.
When I bought my 2012, I got a great trade value for my 2005 and over 11k off the 2012, so had an even less out of pocket expense.
The OP's point is well taken. But, my deals have shown that as the price of new vehicles creeps up, trade values stay at least relative if not better.
I have to have a Laramie...
Most people don't sell a year old truck. ( GS Brockman is the only one i am aware of who did.)
Please don't take this as criticism. I have no plans to criticize. Just interested in why the switch from a 2013 to a 2014 in such a short time (less than 2 years).
I think several here would be interested why. Was it an expensive move? Where there more rebates in 2014?
Did you trade in the 2013 to the dealer (or sell it yourself as used)? Are some dealers willing to make good offers to get a better mix of new/used vehicles? Did you just get a lucky deal (being in the right time and find a dealer that wanted to swap trucks and gave a good deal)?
On another note, I just built and priced a 2016 with the same trim/options as my 2013. Both had sticker prices of around $49,000. I actually paid under $40k. But with taxes it was over $40k
I don't think prices will go up until they make major changes. Someone on here suggested those improvements have been pushed off to 2017 or 2018.
