Ok, well I cut my 4 1/2" hole in the firewall (compliments of EMDDiesel's hole saw - thanks!), and got the Psychotty all ready for installation. But first I drove out to my "test strip", see results below (I have SPA gauges, so I reset the peaks after each run - no guessing at max EGT):
Current set-up (K&N in stock box w/ snorkel, air horn, whatever you want to call it removed): Run #1 max EGT=1301, Run # 2 EGT=1329.
Psychotty w/ 0880: Run #1 max EGT 1350, Run # 2 max EGT 1364.
I did let the truck cool down between the trials for the 2 set-up's. The truck was up to normal temps before any runs. Tests were done within 30 minutes of each other on the same strip, 1 run for each set-up in each direction. All runs were from a rolling stop, <5mph, with A/C/vent off and windows down.
Needless to say, I'm not very happy. When I installed the 0880 by itself, it run as cool as the current set-up listed above.
The Psychotty itself was a pain to install - the intake hose from the turbo to the filter is too long, so it's a PIA getting it on the turbo after connecting it to the 0880.
Guys, let me know if I'm missing something, or if you have any advice, tips, etc. to make it work better, but mine is installed just like the pic in the directions - Psychotty even rotated to exactly the same orientation. I even loosed my Neg cable on the passenger side battery and twisted it over to one side to give the max amount of room. Not very happy right now.
