Her mother hates it but I figure that if she can learn to hold her own now, so that when she is older it won't be a problem for her to pick up that 2x4 and smash the car windows in herself !!

Piers, LMAOF !!! Glad to see I'm not the only one in this boat. My girls are only 4 and 7 but a little pre-planning never hurts. I figure the night of my oldest dauthers first date will be weapon maintenance night for me. A timely discussion of the 7. 62 sniper rifle will follow and my ability to put a round in a shaggy a$$ at 1000 meters might be mentioned. When they leave, they will have a Police tail through out the evening with, of course, direct communication to me. No one wearing his father's pants will be able to date my daughter's and hopefully that trend will be out before I have to worry. No vans will be allowed as the pick up vehicle and I think my largest Saint will also go on the date, just to keep 'em honest and too busy cleaning up drool(his) to think about anything other than coming home.

I like that My little baby is now 16 be 17 in Jan. I guess the word has got around that I m nuts. It takes them awhile to get up the balls to meet me My son got a little horny(or was it her)and got his girlfriend pregnant. But they got married and or doing great. Got that little granddaughter be 3 on July 5. I gave him 11 acres in front of us they built a house and now Mama's got a trail to there house like a cow trail. Well I guess I'm on it some too I tell my daughter we live close to a small town,everybody knows what you do. My eyes may not see her,ears may not hear but theres plenty more out there watching.

Simple rule in my house - she had to bring her boyfriend(s) IN to the house to meet and sit down to talk with me - alone. She and mother went to another room. No exceptions.



I only wish other dads had done that when I was much younger.

To tell you the truth I'm 23 and not 16-18. Although, I do prefer dating girls that are that age . Most girls my age are ready to settle down and have kids and to tell you the truth it scares the h*ll out of me. So if any of you TDR dads have daughters that are around that age send them my way. Don't worry they'll be in good hands with me. Oh and by the way I'm quite the gentlemen and very responsible, in fact, I just recently graduated from the Univ of Colo with an Electrical Engineering degree. I think maybe we could even talk diesels when I come over...

Stereotypes are soo wrong... Maybe in the past EE's were geeks but that was definitely not the case with my class. My class was known campus wide for its partying and pranks. We might be smart but we could throw one heck of a party and get drunk with the best of them.
