Following is what one of the older guys - 62 YO - in my group at work told one of the middle aged guys - 45 YO - when Jim's oldest daughter started college and he was worried/complaining about her in the dorms at UC Santa Barbara:

"Jim, we're all xxxxing somebody's daughter" Not the nicest thing to say to the guy but it certainly is true.

20 is a bit young for me... 21 is as young as I will go :p

Hmmmm and I bet Piers thinks I am just calling every other week to talk turbos and check on parts. :p (just kidding)

BTW Piers, if you are reading this, I am about ready to send Holset a Letter Bomb. :mad: :mad: :mad: :-{}

Thanks Piers!

BACKGROUND: Two daughters (27 & 22 y. o. ), two granddaughters (7 & 2 y. o. ), one son, (20 y. o. ), two son-in-laws, twenty- four years military experience (13 of those in US Army Special Operations Command (75th Ranger Regiment, 5th and 10th SFGA)), NRA life member.

PHILOSOPHY: I am the final say, the buck stops in my lap with all issues. If you mess with my family (immediate) then you have me to contend with and I do not have time to play little girl games. My time is far too restricted and too valuable to waste it on some brainless moron. I have seen more corruption, death, blood, and ignorance in my lifetime that I do not need it tainting in my family’s life.

My youngest daughter, while living in Germany, had an abusive boyfriend. I found out about the abuse and he disappeared to never appear at my doorstep again. If you are “manless” enough to beat on a woman then I need to _________ you from the gene pool.

My son is fully aware that I will crush his head if I ever find out that he is not upholding the principles of honor and respect that I have taught him.

Thanks Piers, I have given this to my two son-in-laws and son to read. I have already assumed the guard on my granddaughters, as one of my son-in-laws is worthless, and will prosecute to the fullest extent possible under the laws of the land (HA HA HA) anyone who messes with my precious little girls.

RLTW!

Michael

P. S. I am aware that there are some fine young men out there, and I wish there were more. The problem is that society has become so liberal that we have created the monsters that we all speak of in the light hearted discussion. I mean no ill feelings towards the generation that most of us do not understand, but wish them the very best in their lives, but do not mess with my girls!

P. S. S. Hope that I have not offended anyone, if so I offer my apologies in advance.

I am 20 and my g/f is now 18 (thank god). When we first started dating ,about 14 months ago, she was 16 an I was 19. When I meet her dad for the first time he shook my hand and in his was a 12 ga shell. He said you can have it this way or the other way your choice. Well lets say it scared the living ***** out of me. Me and him now get along better than me and my dad. Out of all her other b/f I am the only one he has liked. Go figure.

All of this sounds real cute, but remember, those young fellows have fathers too! I personally had to enlighten a girls father over a situation with my son. I can also shoot 300 meters and kick a$$ and take names with the best of them.

Maybe you dads should put this in the "memory bank"

First time I picked this girl up to go out, I was a little nervous. Her parents had raised a straight laced, nice young lady and they were a little strict. I walked in the house, introduced myself to her mom. Everything was good so far, then I walked around the corner to meet her dad... He was sitting at the dining room table cleaning his Mossberg 12ga. All he said to me was "you have a date with my daughter tonight, and you'll have her home by 11:00 or you'll have a date with me later".

Yes Sir!

Turns out her Dad was pretty harmless, but he sure put the fear of god in me that night. Oh yeah, she was home by 10:30

Daughter

Mine Is 28 year's of age now, this thread reminded me of one evening I was waching the 10 pm new's, a knock at the door I answered and it was this boy she had been seeing he asked to speak to my Daughter,i told him that it was too late and to never come over at this hour any more, and shut the door, when I turned there was my Daughter she said Dad that was rude, I answered that I didn't care who it was she wasn't talking to him on a school night at this hour. :-laf :-laf

I'm single now, but every one of my girlfriend's dads that I met (some were'nt around) have liked me. All of the mother's have liked me. But the girlfriend I dating the longest (2 1/2 years) had the coolest dad. I did'nt even meet him for the first 3 weeks or so I was dating her. He was a truck driver and was either gone or sleeping. Only a week or so after that, her dad, brother, her and I were at their house when an F5 tornado destroyed it. I think he saw me trying to cover her with my body. From then on he treated me like a son. We talked all the time and had some very interesting conversations about almost everything. He never could get me to call him by his first name. :) I miss him and her mom alot more than her. I hope the next dad is half as cool as him.

BTW, he was VERY stern with other boyfriends. I only heard a couple stories, but let's just say I'm glad he liked me.
