I know this is a dead horse, but I can't search right now and am going for tires this week. How bad are the spacers? I would like to save some $$ with spacers for now and later get the springs, control arms, traction bar, etc. I am buying 35's and for now don't tow anything or do much off road driving. What could I expect from spacers, and should I get an adjustable traction bar with coils? Thanks for your help and please, I don't want this to turn into a spacers vs. springs:-{} Just looking for honest opinions.

I don't think you need an adjustable trackbar, but if it was me I would opt to buy one (I'm kind of anal about doing things complete).

It doesn't matter if you use springs or spacers to get the lift they both will pull the axle over. The trackbar will solve this and put everything in line again.

On my truck-315's (which are basically metric 35s) didn't rub anywhere other than the control arms at full lock with the stock suspension. This is on the factory 16x8 alloys-aftermarket wheels with a different offset may rub alright.

For me springs were better than spacers-for basically the same reason that Ryan said-on this truck I'm anal about doing everything properly. I can understand you wanting spacers to save a few $$$ though. I did install an adjustable trackbar at the same time-and I'd do it whether I used springs or spacers.

Springs

I would buy the Skyjacker springs instead of the spacers. They dont cost much more then the spacers and many prefer the ride. I have a truck with spacers and one with a complete Skyjacker lift. I prefer the lifted truck but dont like the Skyjacker hydro shocks. A little stiff for my taste. Looks alone ought to sell you on the coils.

Not sure what I'm gonna do...

Got a set of D45 Skyjacker springs and Black Diamond shocks, but may be going down to 33's and lower the back end instead. You may see them in the classifieds soon. Maybe the Banks and Edge stuff will go too.

DT Track Bar

If your looking for a track bar, I installed a DT Products adjustable Trac bar this weekend. It went on easily and seems to work great. I'm impressed with the engineering. I was not impressed with the parts kit. It was missing one nut, two other nuts were the wrong threads, and I think I'll replace the 2. 5 in grade 8 bolts with 3 in ones. They could be a little longer.

I'm running 315's (metric 35's) and don't have hardly any rub with stock suspension. When I'm in reverse and wheels are turned all the way, I get a little rub on the back side. I heated up the plastic inner fender with a heat gun and pushed it back some, now it seldom rubs unless I'm off road.

If I was to lift it, I'd go with the skyjacker springs. My friend did and his rides and looks great.
