Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Did you do something special when setting the cruise? I'm planning my first towing trip 8/1. Will be going from Tennessee to Nova Scotia if all goes as planned, pulling my 32' Cameo 5er.
No, computers in these newer vehicles apparently have a setting to hold down the overspeed in cruise. Only thing I would do on the steeper downgrades is click into TOW/HAUL, it would then downshift more aggressively. If it tachs up too high for me, I would then add foot braking to hold speed. When it gets less steep, just hit 'resume/accel' (or whatever it says on the tab) and it comes back in at your last preset. Caveat is that I am towing around 55 to 60 mph, and starting the downgrades at 50.
Amazing how little brake dust I get now.
Sounds like a great trip, I have to get a bit more retired to do something like that.
