    Towing--What brake controller is best?

The best controller in my opinion is the Tow Command Brake Controller, FMC. Oh, sorry. That for Fords only. Sorry, counldn't resist. :-laf Subby

    Dynatrac Hubs installed

Why couldn't Dodge offer a manual hub option with the current NV271/273 tcase so that you could still just leave the hubs locked when you know you're going to be in and out alot and let the tcase diff do the slipping when on pavement then go to free and 2H and have the benefits like low drag...

Have they figured out the auto yet?

Am really considering an 06 with 0%. I have an 03 QC SB 4X4 with the 6speed. I really want a long bed and would like to give the auto a shot. Do the 06 48REs have both the tow/haul and the overdrive lockout? Do they shift better than in the past. Longevity? Thanks, Subby

    Rumor I heard

I'm not sure what metric size and property class that bed bolt is but a simple 1/2 inch grade 8 bolt can have a tensile strength somewhat north of 100K pounds. Funny how they make such a big deal about holding a 6 or 7K pound truck. If only they could be as proud of the 6"oh".

    Trailer Hitch Question

I think it makes the difference between enjoying the drive and just getting there.

Anyone ever hurt a 3rd gen tow hook?

Well, I haven't hurt one. Pulled out a Suburban the other day after a good snow. I wish the hooks were spaced out about a inch further. It would make putting an eye ended strap on a lot easier. Subby

    3/4 or 1ton Mega Cab

The front axle on both the 2500 and the SRW 3500 is the AAM 9. 25". To my knowledge, they are identical. When I bought my truck in 03, the only diffs appeared to be overloads on the rear, cab lights, and 9900lb versus 9000lb GVWR. Identical drivetrain. The price diff was around $1700 more for...

Dodge sales managers says Mercedes in 07/08

MMurray, I think you can call the Daimler/Chrysler thing anything you want but in my opinion the Germans are driving the wagon. It's sad that our own companies can't seem to get it together. David Gardner, I think I read somewhere that barley pop in moderate quantities allow you to live to...

    Front wheel unit bearings- warranty???

Rockcrawler, Thanks for the reply. I have loved my truck but am not real impressed by the early wear of the ujoints/ball joints. I don't know if my bearings are bad but was planning on going through my front end this spring. Would rather have DC pay than me. The axle seems to be pretty tough...

First tow with the P PUP

DD, I live just a little SE of you. Kinda next to Napolean, (Gosh!), and also tow mountain passes with 8-10K. What kind of EGTs were you seeing compared to stock? Thanks, Wiley

    Front wheel unit bearings- warranty???

Just so I'm straight on this wheel bearing thing, my 03 4X4 has 60K and the front bearings are covered? I know my drivers side ball joint is loose and both axle joints have some play. Just need to know before the big 70K mark. Thanks Rbattelle and DPKetchum Subby

    Gatorback Belt number?

This is NOT intended as an inflammatory comment. The guys on the Ford site talk about having to loosen the radiator in its mounts and the such just to change the serpentine belt. What are the engineers/bean counters thinking? Our belts are sure easy to get off! :-laf :-laf
