Forget about taking your case to a lawyer. Your damages are the difference between what you would have paid for the truck the dealer now won't sell you, and what you will have to pay to buy the IDENTICAL truck from someone else, plus interest at about 5 or 6 %, IF you have to pay more. In all likelihood, the difference will be less than $3,000. In most states now cases under $5,000 go to Small Claims Court, where the parties involved are not allowed to have lawyers represent them in court. The dealer can't have a lawyer either, but the dealer will send their employee who has A LOT of experience in small claims court, and who appears there on all the cases in which the dealer is sued for less than $5,000.
