Which clutch

Trailer was broken in to...

I used to not carry a gun in my RV all the time until!!! I was camping in and isolated overflow camp ground which had no one there except the camp ground host(state campground). A week after we left the host was shot and killed. Now I carry one all the time except into Mexico or Canada.

Since we live in a communist state that doesn't believe we should have the right to defend ourselves, I will admit to nothing, but I sure no one comes poking their nose where it don't belong.

Larry

Have my permit and I usually have two guns with me at all times, I am a fultime RV'er and have them and more with me all the time. Anyone coming in here could face a handgun, rifle, muzzleloader or compound bow. Any place I can carry legally I do. Lost a date one night cause the girl freaked when I started putting my . 380 on the back of my belt. As stated earlier the way things are going today you never know. Was not too long ago that two men walked into a restaurant in Dallas and fired shots into the ceiling then robbed the place.

I still talk to that girl from time to time and she thinks carrying a gun is silly and useless. I told her I carry for protection and that incase moment and that I hope she is never in that position when she needs one or someone that has one.

Question for someone who knows. We are planning a trip to Alaska this summer. I always carry a 38 in my camper. Is there a place to check-in the hand gun at the Canadian boarder and retrieve it on the way back?

One time in my younger days, my wife and I were motorcycle camping. We visited an unnamed country on one of our northern borders. "Do you have any firearms?" "Why, no, I'd never think of anything like that!" Not the smartest thing I've ever done, but campgrounds and the like are relatively high crime areas. I haven't been back since, and have absolutely no desire to go to Mexico. The crime there is backed by President Fox. Nuts on that!

Be smart never leave home with out your gun!!!

it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!

I keep one in the camper when i'm camping, not in the cab.

And don't be too quick to judge CA, just because you might get strung up in marin co. for shooting a deer doesn't mean its like that in the whole state. When I was 18, working for the department of forestry I hit a deer on the way to work and left it by the side of the road. I got chewed out good for leaving a good piece of meat that to rot :-laf

I carry one in the truck and a couple in the 5th wheel. Like my Dad always says, "If they can win the gun battle then they're welcome to take all my stuff. " ;)

I wouldn't be caught without one handy. I'm not paranoid, but I'm not going to be a willing victim for some doped up crackhead either. "Stand by sir, before you rob me or rape my wife or one of my daughters I'd like you to give me a minute to call the police and report this. "

Regarding Mexico: Don't even get caught down there with any ammunition. They'll dump you in jail and leave you there unless and until you can get our govt. to intervene. I've seen this happen. It's not a joke or a myth. No gun necessary, just ammunition. I don't go there anymore. You can't trust their crooked cops or their govt, and there are plenty of people down there (at least the ones still there that haven't illegally invaded this country while GW winks at them) who would steal from you or worse, given the opportunity.

I always bring a pistol EVERYWHERE I go... Even nicer now that they passed the National right to carry for Police Officers with Proper Police ID.....

Its been a long time coming, I'm glad you guys have that. I only wish we could get reciprocity for those of us with CCW's. I Live close to the WA - OR border and I had to get a permit from either state because neither will honor the others permit. What a PITA

I know someone who carrys a handgun everywhere they go and while in a vehicle they just place it in plain site on the dash. This way it is not "concealed" and can't be ticketed for carrying a concealed weapon since Nebraska doesn't have a permit or honor one :(

He claimed he's been pulled over before and the cop didn't say anything about it?

Maybe this is a way to get around states which don't have concealed carry permits?

For those of you that choose to carry I would suggest that you add "packing.org" to your favorites on internet explorer. This web sight is a wonderful resource to determine what each state will require for you to be legal. These laws change on a daily basis and this is the only way to know what the current law is. I have my resident states CCW and I also have a gun shop so I'm lincensed as a FFL Dealer. Anyone who wants to get or keep the right to carry needs to support the NRA with votes and dollars.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this:

US Code Title 18 chapter 44

§ 926A. Interstate transportation of firearms

Notwithstanding any other provision of any law or any rule or regulation of a State or any political subdivision thereof, any person who is not otherwise prohibited by this chapter from transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm shall be entitled to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose from any place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm if, during such transportation the firearm is unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle: Provided, That in the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver’s compartment the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console.

At packing.org search for 926a and there some discussions about traveling with firearms between states.

Good find jamnram. Does that mean that if I can legally have a handgun in Nevada and am going to somewhere else where I can legally own a handgun, I can legally drive through Cook County (Chicago) even though it is illegal for me to have a handgun there? I wish there was a nationwide CCW. I can't believe people let city councils and county commissions usurp thier rights as much as they do!
