The Night before Christmas

Like "rolling coal" ??

while you may enjoy these small victories of smoking people out, most likely you're the only one who perceives it. The people in the cars simply say what a dumbass with a POS truck that smokes so much. I doubt they get the message, especially the message of 'warning shots'... . Anyone ever think they're being tailgated because they drive too slow? I'll tailgate someone whos driving too slow in the left lane of the highway. .

I dont drive slow in the left lane, so if someone tailgates me, I will give them soot... if you tailgated me, you would see night time at noon, dude! not being rude, but hey, if you have the smoke, use it to your advantage!

-Chris-

LMAO at Chris. BTW if your in the left lane and being tailgated,if its not becasue you cant get over than you are going too slow.

Thanks LM, I wondered why I was getting tailgated so much.

Guess some folks just don't like to poke around at 20 over the posted limit.

I don't care how fast I'm going, if you ain't got what it takes to get around--first get off my bumper, second get that GD cell off your face.

Actually SMOKE is much safer than what I used to do... STOMP THE FREAKIN BRAKES. Yes I made a few lock 'em up. Stay off my bumper, it's unsafe and I will show you why.

Think when you drive--most folks don't.

Whoops I ranted a bit. :p

Glad no body tailgated you when I let you drive my truck! :-laf

So I'm sitting at a stop light the other day and a 300ZX (I think they're 300's not 3000?) pulls up next to me. Well, it's an older one and the kid driving it looks up at me and revs the engine a little. I look over and he's got one of those red "Type R" type race-looking seatbelt pad things (a cheap go-fast part to add at least 30 RWHP). So, me thinking that he's wanting to play, I bump the Comp to 5x5. Don't have time to start building boost, and don't want to anyway... figured if I did I'd smoke the entire intersection. I decided that when the light went green, if he got on it I would too... I know it's twin-turboed, so I couldn't let him get too good of a jump or I wouldn't win.

So, light goes green and off we go. I'm watching him and he gets about 1/4 length ahead of me and I can hear his engine start winding out, so I mash it... soot pedal through the firewall is the way I think of it. Well, at this same time I check the mirror and sure enough black smoke is just rolling out... . finally spool about 3 seconds later and I'm off (did I mention his winder was down? :-laf ). As I pull past him and get 2 lengths on him I check my mirror again to see THE ENTIRE INTERSECTION FILLED WITH SMOKE!!! Now, I've smoked intersections before, but this was by far the best I've ever done... maybe cause it was slightly uphill, or maybe cause it was 90*F out, but for whatever reason it was full... . to add to that, traffic in both directions STOPPED COMPLETELY!!! Nobody went through the intersection for about 15 seconds while the smoke cleared, and then the light went back to red! :) Oh, turned out he wasn't racing me either (or he realized his mistake early) and he turned off two side-streets up. So I get to the next red light and this guy in a blazer rolls up next to me. He looked at me, glared, and FLIPPED ME THE BIRD!! I laughed, waved with a big smile and told him have a nice day! I couldn't stop laughing the rest the way home.

Some people have no sense of humor about things.

Stupid, no good, slow, smoking dam diesels anyway...  :D

I was on the way to get sme pizza this afternoon, and I notice in my rear view that a 1 ton ISB is going out of his way to catch up with me... . well, he finally gets up on my @ss, and tries to move over on the shoulder to make me see him so he can get by... when he did this on my passenger side, I FOGGED his teen age @ss with smoke, and took off to about 95... I slow back down, and here is moron, once again on my tail... I speed up, smoke him again, move over... he gets up on the side of me, looks over, and nails it, like he is going to pass me... I let him get about 2 truck lengths ahead, and punch it, passing him up, making him get back behind me. As we get off the highway, we come to a red light to go left under the bridge... . he is goosing the fuel pedal, making noise, but no smoke... I spooled it up to 3k one time, and thought that was enough smoke... light goes green, and I break the rear loose in 2nd, 3rd, and screech the tires in 4th... he is way back now, and when I pull into the pizza joint, he goes by, with jaw dropped, and on the throttle, like I am supposed to be impressed... oh well, I wasnt, but I am sure he told his buddies he beat a dodge, and how it couldnt hang so it turned off! haha, oh well, he got a good ol' smokin!!!!

A while ago I was leaving work, and was driving along the on ramp to get on the freeway, gaining speed, I was doing about 50mph, and there is a bend in the on ramp, I get around the bend and there is a car at a complete stop, with her left signal on, trying to get on the freeway, as the cars are passing her by at 65mph, good luck getting on the freeway. I have never been known as a patient person, so I'm behind her, and I'm starting to boil, so I see a small break in the traffic and I floor it and go around the stopped car, as I get around her I notice her window is down, direct hit, what a shame:-laf as I enter the freeway I looked in my mirror and both lanes of traffic on the freeway have stopped waiting for the soot wall to pass:eek: . I don't do it often, but when I do, it put's a smile on my face. :D

This is sort of a smoke story but their wasnt much smoke involved.

This week on wed. my class (diesel I & II from NCKTC) were taking a 'field trip' to Grand Island, Neb. for the husker harvest days (WHAT A WASTE OF TIME). any how we get up to Hastings and jump on 281 where its fourlane. And I am following my buddy's 97 PHURD PS with banks chip and straight pipe. I am in my WIFES 02 (you can see the sig. ) and i pull up beside him to screw with him. He then gives me the universal lets light em up sign. From 45 mph start we laid into them. And as I began to inch a way from him all I can hear with the windows down was screaming that S. O. B. is going to beat me and away I went grinning and grinning... He has been SOOO mad at me all week that my wifess BONE STOCK TRUCK beat his chipped PS..... Kinda made me giggle... LOL

 Hey Guys, love these smoke stories. But I got a question, on the technical side. Isn't lugging the engine like you are doing, detrimental to the engines life? Forgive me, I am but a newbie to CTDs. Would love to be able to smoke some yups in a beemer, now and then, but don't want to kill my truck doing it. Smoke on!Oo.

Jengle: In My Honest Opinion (IMHO) - if you lugged your engine like the folks in this thread have described for hours on end... . then you may be harming the engine a little bit.

Lugging it to smoke someone out will not hurt the engine.

If you want to start talking about your transmission/clutch/etc..... then we can discuss possible damage to other parts from lugging it down.

For the most part - smoking someone out will not damage much of anything - provided your truck is in good working order.

Matt - always ready to help someone produce more diesel dust

Mother smoker ...

I guess I'm smokingly challenged. :( Yesterday I took a short ride down to the auto parts place to pick up a gallon of earl for an earl change to one of my other vehicles. On the way back, a ricer-wanna-be in a 4X4 mid '90s Explorer that was *LOWERED DOWN*, with skate-boarded wheels/tires, and that look on his face. You know the one. Like he thinks he's driving a Ferrari.

Anyway ... I manage to work past him in the fast lane because he was over in the slow lane riding somebody's a$$ so close he couldn't take his eyes off their bumper long enough to realize all he had to do was change lanes and go around. About the time I get my bumper up to his door, the person he's tailgaiting bows up and turns right on him.

After they turn off he floors it (that's when I realize he's got the fart can exhaust too) and runs back up beside me and acts like he's gonna try to jump in front of me in traffic. The gentle down movement of my throttle pedal indicated my foot thought otherwise. And of course my foot was smiling after that small push more than equalled his foot on the floor.

But then he would have to get behind me to not have to practically stop again for right turners in his right lane. PERFECT ... he would be lining himself up with my pipe if he changes lanes. I hit the clutch and waited. Sure enough he started coming over ... I let the clutch out and put the not so sooty pedal to the floor.

Ahhh pooooh! Mother smoker! Was all I thought when all I got was a real good haze. 275's with an EZ do OK, except after a few tank fulls with Stanadyne Performance formula ... it really does reduce smoke.

I hazed him a few more times for good measure, and (at that time) vowed no more Stanadyne for me. Of course I re-neg'ed with myself and will continue to use it. Wish I could've been driving Charlan's truck at that moment. He was driving like a moron, and looked like one to boot.

He needed lots more smoke, and I failed to give it to him. Sorry guys. :( Can I still read your smoke posts? I promise, I'll try harder next time.

I am thinking that a competition PMAX will be my lack-of-smoke remedy. I can already make a little, but the truck takes off too fast and the smoke goes away... .

JyRO, I dont think they understand the message of being smoked out, unless you have one that smokes like a friggin dump truck. I think they probably just look over and say what a jerk with a smoky truck. If I were you, I would have rolled down the window and told the guy he was gay and that his truck was a POS. That also works;) :-laf

Anytime i need more smoke than the supermental injectors,an drag comp can make,i slip in the bully dog7's:D . Then I have the power to erase any fool I like at will. Ive only give nthe full smoke treatment twice, and both times it was needed.

a twist

After a fresh load of fuel, I pulled out, rowing kinda easy--and outta nowhere a black 3500 comes up behind me. So I moove a little faster--I have enclosed trailer and lawnmower out back, else I would have just left him. So, in bit he finds a hole and gets around me on the two lane road. I notice a bit of soot, so I keep him in sight. Later after a slowpoke turns off, I surprise him by showing back up behind him at 85-trailer and all.

So we come to the first light and it's red and while we're sitting there he shoots a black puff. I shoot one back. :D When the light changed we darkened the intersection a bit and then I motioned for him to pull over.

We pull over and shoot the #2 and I tell him about the TDR and everything is way cool. Young guy with a plate and saving for gauges and a clutch, so he can move the plate. ;)

And no, most folks don't know that you're intentionally smoking them. They don't even know why you're out there on the road. They think the road was built for them personally.

JYRO!! I AM GLAD YOU SAW THE LIGHT, AND THEY DIDNT!

It's good to have you converted to liking smoke! It seems as if some of the past posts of yours did not like this thread. I am glad to see you utilized the raw #2 to your upper hand! Keep posting the good stories!

-Chris-

Charlan - I never said that I don't like smoke. Only that it has its proper place and I still don't think its a good idea to smoke someone out just because you can. Well, this guy needed more than I could provide. Oh well :( , my truck runs too darned good to sweat the small (smokey) stuff. If I'd had your truck, he would've got what he deserved. But smoking the innocents is still, against my policies. ;) :D I can handle my level of smoke in return for such a dependable tower that can get 21 mpg empty. No problem.
