Went back out to mine this morning.
It does have slots top and bottom. Not sure how I missed that, lighting maybe.
I also used a set torque not the torque plus wrench angle. Holy crap that’s tight!
I'm right there with you brother!!! My father, 87 too, just had his hip replaced. Kind of impressed as two weeks have gone by and he's driving!!!! First week was doubtful!!!My father had hip surgery at 87, and I have to agree with this statement as I helped him get into the shower!!!!!
Im sure on a Carli view point! However, that new design is completely different than what was potentially a problem. I'm betting the new design is just fine!!!There has been a few people writing on the Cummins forum about failures of the new style drag link. They posted that on the Carli Facebook page there are more write ups about the failures. I can’t get into Facebook. I’m not a member nor will I ever become one so I can’t access the pages.

Huh! Thanks for the pic!!! You just made me stop from clicking to order this setup. That picture made me second guess this setup. What the hell is holding that in place with all the pressure on that linkage. Dang, me no like!!! What is it with freaking Chrysler and these front ends!!!!!!Never ending story!!!!What they are saying that the passengers side end is now having issues. The end is pressed(maybe) into the tube and then crimps are done to the tube to hold it in place. I guess they did not have a welder!!!!!

Still haven't replaced mine nor has it been welded. 6 yrs/120k miles. Paint marks still match up from day 1 of receiving this recall.
If I'm not mistaken, the price of the revised drag link jumped up DRAMATICALLY. I hope I'm wrong.
$273.70, guess I got a deal at $105 or what ever it was I paid. Link two nuts and shipping ended up being $141. Price varies between 261 to 350+ SnokingIt did. They changed the part number sufix to a AD (which now covers 2013-2020 but same drag link as far as I can tell) and more the doubled the price. It's pushing $300 now.

Dirtbag!
(In other words - you are much luckier than me)
Dan, it's the one reason all the other recalls are stacking up on me. I refuse to darken a dealerships door way with this open recall, I could take it in for a tire rotation and it would come home with a welded track bar. No thank you.
I remember your circumstances were different though. I think you had a 4 wheel drive issue just before the rally and wanted it taken care of?
That's understandable.
You could wield it with some silicone then paint over it. The inspector would probably miss it an Mark it down as being done...Yep, I have a couple recalls that I am not having done because I know if they get my truck they will weld it no matter what I say.
