    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) towing a 97 4x4 auto

One thing I would suggest is to put some weight in your tow vehicle. Pickups are lite in the rear, and a towed vehicle can push your tow vehicle around. Remember the truck you are towing is not able to brake.

    Running the dogs.

I wouldn't worry to much about your Pit. Remember, they have a great deal of terrier in them. Factor in the Bulldog, and possible a dash of (hound from the southern states) and I'd be surprised if your dog didn't take on that badger. In Florida, Pits' are used for wild boar. Many times the boar...

Ford guys can't figure it out

Dr. Evil I don't know a thing about engineering, so maybe you can explain to me in layman terms why Cat. ,Detroit and Cummins don't continue to use V8 engines in over the road trucks? I haven't seen many V configuration engines in dozers, frontend loaders, or any other equipment that needs a...

Ford guys can't figure it out

Anyone ever lug down their 71 series detroits and have it run backwards? Smoke would start pouring out the air cleaner. Just shut her down, start her back up, and keep on truckin.

The Truth be told... some woke up and smelled the coffee...

Anyone heard of any Duramax's breaking cranks? A trailor dealer here in Ohio, who also installs replacement decks, told me about 2 of his customers with Duramax's that have broken their crankshafts. I know that no engine manufacturer is immune to problems like this. Cummins, Cat , Mack, all...

    oil, black gold, texas t

Are you running Rotella or Rotella_T? Rotella_T is a better oil for our diesels. Also they have a Rotella syn- blend that I use in the winter.

    Bigfoot vs. Lance Campers

The Bigfoot campers have insulated aluminum frames which stops most or all condensation,( if I understand their sales pitch) I have been looking at new campers every chance I get for 7 years. At present I have a Coachmen. I WILL NEVER have another camper with a wood frame. Summerwind, built...

What did you do with your Bush tax rebate?

Let's face it. If those overeducated idiots in DC would redo the tax code, they wouldn't have to give us refunds!!! THEY WILL NEVER DO THE RIGHT THING about SS. If SS is so good, why isn't Congress on the same plan as us? OH, I forgot, they're better than us. Take every politician, put them in...

    Proud Of Your Pooch?

Well I hate to burst everyones bubble, but here goes. My dog's name is Scooter. A 56# white BULL TERRIER, who at this time is over 14 yrs. old. Scooter climbed into my 85 Freightliner at the ripe old age of 7 weeks. In over 14 yrs. Scooter has missed "1" load, has been to every state but Hawaii...

    D-Max jealousy?

Texas Diesel. I maybe wrong, but isn't Dodge going to use a different suspension, similar to IFS in 1/2 tons in 2002? I believe I read or saw something about a different setup.

    Is it Soda or Pop?

In Ohio it's Pop, in N. C. it's a drink. If I order in a restaurant I order a cola. That way the waitress doesn't have to ask me Pepsi or Coke? Has anyone ever mixed a Coke in with their chocolate milkshake? Kinda like a really thick cold Yahoo.

    Radiator drain plug

Well I bought a new drain plug. When I put the plug in it never stops turning. It doesn't leak, and I can't pull the plug out by hand, but the plug acts like a stripped bolt. If this plug hole is stripped the radiator will have to be pulled and who knows what will have to be done to fix it...

    Oil Report

oil I have close to 2 million miles on my Freightliners using rotella t , with no complaints. About a year and a half ago I switched to Rotella synthetic blend. I liked it the best. Engine starts good in winter, and cost is not that much more than Rotella T. Has anyone else used the Rotella...

    Radiator drain plug

Lately I noticed a lose of antifreeze. Noticed drain plug dripping. I removed plug to put on new O-ring. That's when I saw a small piece of black plastic, about 3/16" long. Drain plug isn't broken. It's impossible to see inside female opening. Is the female opening a replaceable part?

Firefighter deaths due to endangered salmon

Are these environmental extremist really that concerned about the enviroment, or is it a roundabout way to accomplish what I believe to be their #1 objective, Socialism. What better way to run people off their land than to declare that land inhabited by some "endangered" species of whatever.
