My '03, Ordered in Aug of '02 and delivered in Nov '02: So far... 7 yrs - 5 months, 125,000 miles, no issues.

Reviving this thread because back in January I said my OEMs were running fine. It's time now, to toll the death knell for them. They've been turning the engine fairly slowly lately, but being summertime, I wasn't too worried. I don't drive it much when the weather's good as I use my bike to commute to work. However, winter's on the way and the OEMs would not have made it through the first cold night.

I was so thrilled with the performance of the OEMs that I was seriously considering getting them again as a replacement, but my neighbor and TDR member had some fairly new Sears Platinum AGMs that he didn't need anymore and sold to me for $50 each. I put them in today and the engine turned so fast, I thought it was going to launch out of the engine bay! What a difference. I guess I'm all set for the next few years.

Total time with OEMs: 1 week short of 9 years 4 months. Wow!

Sears Platinum AGMs are the premium batter made for Sears by Odessey... that's what I used in my '03 when I replaced the originals. BTW, I replaced mine without seeing any problems... 6 years on an original battery worried me. I expect 10 years out of these Platinums, based on my previous experience with Odessey.

2006 with 35K on it and had to replace both batteries just about 3 weeks ago... .

THis is what happens when the truck is used for a shop stereo and lawn ornamanet...

2002 with 157000 miles & 8 years of service on OEM batteries... so far. Hopefully I will get some warning before they die as opposed to finding out one winter day that they went caput... :(

My '02 (built April-2002) still has it's original batteries after 98,000km (59,000mi). It's important to keep them fully charged in the off season.

I just replaced mine in August just as a precaution because I was going to tow out of town. Mine were original from Oct. 02 they still worked. However when I installed the new ones my engine turned over quite a bit faster and seemed to start quicker. I couldn't tell there was an issue until then.

The originals lasted 8 years, In hind sight I probably should of bought the same, but I went with the red top Optimas instead. I had one last 12 years, used it in a dunebuggy for 4 years then moved it to a motorhome for another 8. The battery was so bleached out you couldn't tell what color it was. :-laf
